Do you want Pikachu to be as active in Gen VI anime as in BW?

In BW Pikachu was usel a lot. He battled Elesa, Skyla, Cress, Roxie and Burgh. He was the only one of Ashs pokemon to get wins in Unova League(except Pignite and Krookodile). So do you want it to continue like this? I don't. It destroys Development for other pokes.

I would prefer if Pikachu only battled in the beginning of the saga when Ash's new Pokemon were still weak. Later on, in the middle of the series, I wouldn't want Pikachu to be used as much. This is what I disliked most about BW where Pikachu was used in like 5 gym battles even when Ash had obtained like 9 Pokemon.

Nope but as someone already mentioned promotion trumps plot. BW just overused Pikachu to the extreme and winning gyms and other battles as easily (sometimes) as he did it made the Unova team look especially weak. BW didn't really do much for Pikachu in making it look strong (save the Thunderous Powered Electro Ball) especially Trip's starter beating it in its 1st and 2nd stage with its lost making Pikachu just look I don't know....

Although Pikachu is the mascot of the franchise I didn't see any need to overpromote him in any way in Unova since Pokémon from previous generations were unobtainable in the wild when B/W first came out. In fact, even with the late sequels bringing old Pokémon back Pikachu is nowhere to be seen. This time his overexposure was a fault from the writers, not the marketing, since the focus was supposed to be on the regional Pokémon and all.
And no, I definitely don't want Pikachu (or any other Pokémon he catches for that matter) robbing the spotlight from the rest of the team the whole time. I know he is supposed to get more screentime being the main Pokémon and all, but lets avoid exaggerations.

Of course that does mean one lucky trainer destined to be Ash's rival will somehow get a level 89,433,235 starter by the forces of fate.

I really think he should be used way less. Mascot or not, the fact he has had way more battles than any other pokemon since the anime began means Ash seriously needs to use Pikachu less. I hate how Ash uses him in every sticky situation.

No. He was used WAAAAYYYYY too much in Isshu and needs to step the hell down anyway. He's been the (non-human) star of the show since Day 1 and surely I'm not the only person who gets sick of him. BW made the situation worse by making him the end-all, be-all of Pokémon a lot of the time.

I think this is fruitless. Of course Pika is going to be all over the place, it wouldn't be a pokemon product if it wasn't. Do I want it to be that way? No, but you come to accept that it isn't going to happen. The most we can hope for is for Pika to have something interesting happen to it. This gen, we finally got a new attack after having not learned a new one since he got Volt Tackle in AG. This attack didn't do much for him, I feel, but it's there now. I would personally work on his relationship to other pokes, but that's just me. That's something the anime also is lacking on.

I like Pikachu and all, but I want Satoshi's Pokémon to have something close to equal screen-time, or rather focus. Of course Pikachu's going to be in more scenes because he's never in a Poké Ball, but on previous gens we've had more episodes focusing on each of Satoshi's Pokémon, so their characters felt somewhat more developed compared to the BW team. Seriously, I feel like he got them 10 episodes ago...

Just substitute in when it's an emergency once in a while would be enough. And blasting off the Rockets sometimes.

Like other people said, Pikachu should be used less and leave space to the new Pokémon, which should get as many battles as they can before being ditched. Pikachu will (probably) be always in the series, so a battle less shouldn't hurt him too much.

No. In fact, I don't want Pikachu in any of the rival battles unless it will be a six on six. And as long as it doesn't lose to water and flying type pokemon, I'm fine with it being used in only two gym and used less than he was in BW.

So? Does that mean he has to be so overused and overpowered all the time? No reason other Pokémon can't get more screentime/wins and/or get bigger/better roles with him still there.

But he is still the pokemon that brings so much attention to the show. He shouldn't take over, but he can't be taken away.

I guess Pikachu was overused in BW because Team Rocket stopped appearing in every episode. In previous series he would use his Thunderbolt attack to send the trio blasting off again numerous times, so to compensate for the lack of activity and prevent him from becoming a dead weight on Ash's shoulder the writers decided to have him starring in so many battles.
I don't know how the next series will be structured and what the writers will do to give Pikachu the attention he needs, but I sure hope they reduce his participation in Gym battles.
It could be worse; he could end up getting lost every five episodes.
