Do you want to see Pokemon Chronicles make a return?

As you know, Pokemon Chronicles focused on characters who were not part of the main cast or made cameo appearences, or never met the twerps. However, when 4Kids couldn't translate Pokemon episodes anymore, the Pokemon Chronicles mysteriously disappeared until those episodes about Brock and Dawn. But they never aired outside of Japan (It's only been several months. Maybe they'll air). Do you think the Pokemon Chronicles should make a return? I think so.

They made Dawn and Brock specials last year, but it seemed to be a one-off thing. That's why we haven't gotten any further ones.

My guess is they don't want to waste time animating episodes out of the main show because its too much work. They already have 52 episodes, a movie, and Pikachu shorts to make every year...no time for specials.

I liked the Crystal episode where they featured Jimmy and Marina. A nice change for once with Ash not being the main boy. I want them back with other features.

But I heard there was Pokemon super sunday or so - and they made a really short episode about Pokemon Guardian signs. It had Ben and Red Eyes in the episode. I wish they continued it.

After the way they completely missed the opportunity to continue May's story, I don't think they're very interested in making new side stories anymore. I'm sure they made ones for Dawn and Brock because they felt they had to, and they couldn't make an excuse for them to return within the main story. It's been so long that I don't think it would serve a purpose anymore, for any of the characters.

In my opinion, Chronicles shouldn't have happened until right about now. We've got a huge bundle of significant recurring characters to make stories from and they wouldn't have to resort to making episodes about freaking Casey and Richie if the series itself took place in this era. It was a great concept and some episodes were enjoyable, but there were also some stinkers attributed to the crappy characters that they had to work with (and I guess some plots can be blamed for lack of quality too). So the timing of Chronicles wasn't quite right. If it had happened in the present day, there'd be a lot of AWESOME characters to work with and I'd love to see expanding stories on them.

But I too doubt that they'll ever revive the series. They're too busy making a trainwreck out of their main series right now. ... Come to think of it, I might not trust the writers of today to handle a new version of Chronicles. Even though the writing staff hasn't changed so they're obviously capable of writing good episodes... gotta take those fanfic-writing interns into consideration here.

What I wouldn't do for a Chronicles episode of Paul T_T

It was very nice to see what goes behind closed doors for some of these characters, ya know? It fleshes them out a bit. But yeah...they have to consider the costs, the advertising benefits and the necessity of it all (all of which, minus the costs, are very low...)

Well, with the same characters in the original chronicles? As, then, no.
I'd actually love one, if it was executed properly, as the characters from D/P had so much potential and the Co-ordinators from AG too. Of course, I don't know how you would tie the two together, but even having just DP characters as they were the most recent would be excellent. And not just the old protagonists at that. The rivals, the recurring characters, as they were what really sculturped DP as it is for me.
I mean, it'd be shameful for a terrible hosos arc with such varied and vivacous characters in my opinion.

However, as BW is on, wouldn't happen until after, and I honestly don't believe they'll have a special for DP or AG then, either, as it will be probably too late and if they made a chronicles for anyone then, it would be for Dento and Iris (possibly the rivals and recurring characters also).
I realise Brock and Dawn had those two episodes at the end, but I didn't think it was really enough for the hosos.

What I wouldn't do for a Chronicles episode of Paul T_T

Yeah, when I say there's a ton of recurring characters to make episodes for, I mostly mean episodes for Paul. XD And Conway. And Barry. And May's Johto adventures. THIS IS ALL THE SERIES REALLY NEEDS.

But hey, they theoretically could surprise me with a good Zoey episode, or make me feel something other than "GTFO" for Kenny, or make Ursula the Top Coordinator she deserves to be, or possibly interest me in an episode in which Lyra and Khoury finally make out.

So many possibilities.

I agree with Shinneth. If it means we get more Conway, then hells yeah, I'm all for it.^^

It's not going to happen, of course. But we can dream.

But I heard there was Pokemon super sunday or so - and they made a really short episode about Pokemon Guardian signs. It had Ben and Red Eyes in the episode. I wish they continued it.

There's been several non-regular series anime episodes created after 4Kids "Chronicles" thing ended. "Chronicles" was just a catch-all label they dubbed all the as-of-yet-undubbed specials under, nothing more complicated than that. It's not a "concept" in itself, and there's no "mysterious conspiracy" related to 4Kids losing the license.

Answer is yes.First set of chronicles was liked by many people with several intriguing characters getting chance to shine there.
Continuation would be great way to focus more on characters and stories who sadly arent anymore part of show, and that way we could get update on our favorites, what new pokemon or clothes they might have, how much they improved in meantime as trainers or coordinators etc.

It would also satisfy many older fans giving to us side story where for a change Ash isnt main center of attention with others getting chance to shine on there own and gain significant growth with continuation taking place.

I would be interested in seeing Misty again having big potential. It would be nice to find out how much she improved, what new pokemon she might have caught and who evolved and what has changed in meantime.Perhaps we could see her going on journey to get new pokemon and try enter another Whirl Cup or something to advance goal of water master or intensively train for it forming potentially some rivalry with others in process.

Or find out more about her past(Like it was case with Gyarados)enriching her past and creating potential for some strong development.

Same goes for May being more than welcomed to see continuation of her story and how is her career as coordinator going on.It was pity we never got info on how things went for hr in Johto Grand Festival not knowing in what region after that she chose to go.Not to mention there is still left unfinished business with rivals like Dew or Harley and seeing them again in action is big plus.

Paul was arguably best rival Ash had.I liked Gary but i cant ignore great storyline and growth of rivalry between Ash and Paul which was don in DP.Being nice change when we received someone who wasnt typical cliched rival having character and his own training method proving how there is more than one effective way.I would like to see him again and it would be interesting to find out how will his eventual rematch vs Brandon go on.

Seeing Brock would bed nice too.His special barely focused on doctor carer and this could be opportunity to develop character more, determine if he will leave Pewter or stay there and if we are lucky maybe even battle.

Well, with the same characters in the original chronicles? As, then, no.
I'd actually love one, if it was executed properly, as the characters from D/P had so much potential and the Co-ordinators from AG too.

Speaking of potential some characters from original series have lot of material to expand on too.Like Misty,Brock or even Gary.So if new one ever get made in my opinion either characters from all 3 eras should be included or no one at all.

If they started up the Hoso now, than they could really use them. It would be a great excuse to conbine characters that overwise wouldn't meet.

As others have said, there's more strong characters to use now too. It would be great to see many of the DP characters getting fleshed out and I wouldn't mind knowing if some of the original characters have grown much since we last saw them. There are some characters were episodes are pretty much asked for by themselves. With Shinji there's the Jindai battle. With Haruka and her rivals, there's how well they did in the GF (though that's more of an arc than an episode). There any many characters though where it would just be nice to see how they're doing: Jun, Kouhei, Kasumi, ect.

It would also just be nice to have an alturnitive for those that aren't so keen on the feel of Best Wishes.

I feel if there were going to be a new set of specials there would have been some consistently from the Dawn/Brock specials. The fact that we're almost a year later and there haven't been any new specials since proves that.

Also the fact that DP didn't have any specials is bizarre.

My first reaction: Hell no. The first set of chronicles were just not good, because ultimately, the characters they had to work with were either super bland (Casey, Ritchie, Sakura) or just plain done (No we did not need to revisit Brock will not be a gym leader though the episode was good) or both (Misty). But that's just it. The writers have a lot of more interesting characters now with storylines still hanging and with more interesting personalities that they could use. May's Johto Grand Festival, Barry having a battle against his father, Paul having a rematch against Brandon, Dawn in Hoenn possibly being stalked by an avenging Ursula, Conway doing something nerdy and creepy, etc. Ultimately, there's something about May and the DP characters that the characters from the original Chronicles didn't have: They left you wanting to see more of them.

So my answer would be, no to chronicles about Team Rocket, Misty, Brock, Tracey, Ritchie, Todd, Casey, etc. but hell yes to chronicles about May, Dawn, Paul, Barry, Conway, Ursula, etc. Not to mention, I would love chronicles about current Animé characters like Chili, Bel and Cabernet.

I would like to see Tyson specials yes specials

Tyson is a champion of sorts so he should have a lead role I would love to see him and other AG characters interact with DP and OS characters.

Birch Conway Barry Reggie Paul Morrison Harley Ursala Gary Misty Forest Silver Casey and Jimmy all in one show. Hell yeah.

Agreeing on the sentiment of not wanting to see most of the characters that had prominent roles in the original Chronicles. If you can't HGSS these designs up, I don't want to hear about Brock or Misty.

In addition to the majority of the Sinnoh cast and May/Drew/Harley, I'd also like to see an episode for Max where he becomes a trainer and reunites with the Ralts he bonded with, except that would indicate that the other characters are aging and obviously the anime can't have that. Hrrrgh.

Brock and Misty need to just go away forever. They had their time in specials and in the series.

Obviously I don't even need to say what I want as far as specials go. Pretty sure I've beaten that dead horse into the ground by now.

Pretty sure we're not getting any new ones ever.

I will say though that I would have liked Paul to get one special.

Anything would be preferred to watching the predictable cycle of watching Ash being built up to lose yet another regional league tournament, then dumping his regional team to a given Professor en-route to the next new land, having Pikachu's power reset, and doing it all over again on his never-ending journey to become a pokemon master (which is just a sly cover-up to hide the fact that he's nothing more than a promotional marketing puppet/tool answering to the demands of those who control his actions)

Yes, revisit ANYone else, as long as it's not Ash! I don't care who it is! Although, it should preferably be characters who need the screentime/development to tie up loose ends as opposed to characters who got more than enough of their fair share during their time on the show. I'm all for it.
