Do you wish that some character was a main character?

Imagine a character from the games. For example Falkner(Flyning type gym leader in Jotho). Do you want Falkner to join Ash on his journeys like Iris and Cilan currently does?

AG: I had the feeling that Flannery could be a good replacement to Brock. And maybe Ash could have had numel/camerupt instead torkoal, like some people wanted by that time.
DP: No gym leader, but Barry should be an interesting choice as a main character instead Brock.

I think Marlon would have been a fun companion to Ash.

Marlon would be an interesting companion. His philosophy of being neutral and not instantly fighting villains would be really refreshing [I wonder how he would react to Ash and co. pretty much dropping everything to help a character of the day.] Granted, it wouldn't really fit in, and he could very easily be rewritten. As it is it's not like we saw much of his personality given he appeared only once.

I actually agree with this. I liked what they did with the pokemon special manga series when they combined the main characters and still kept Red coming back and fourth letting people know that they were more than just one main. I actually would have love it if they could have been aside by Ash as well. Such as Gary being more present in Kanto with Ash. Jimmy along with Chris, Brendan along with May, Leaf joining the others like Lyra did along with Gary for a while, and Lucas along with Dawn. If the writers wanted to, they could have done a good job with them as well.

I'm happy with Ash as the main protagonist. In terms of people i'd of liked to see join him in the main cast. Flannery would have been a fun female companion. I'd of liked to have seen Leaf in the anime too.
