I have always wondered what happens when you release a Pokemon from another region (let's say Linoone from Hoenn) into region where it isn't natively found (Kanto for example) and they started breeding in the wild. Sort of like in real life when settlers from foreign countries accidentally released animals that weren't native to that country.
An example of this would be the American signal crayfish being released in Britain's rivers. It wreaked havoc because it carries a crayfish plague that is harmful to native crayfish (whilst being resistant to the plague itself). Alien species can also upset the food chain in countries where they are released.
Another example of this would be the American grey squirrel causing a decline in the population of the native red squirrel

Wouldn't the same thing happen in Pokemon?

I wonder why some non-Water Pokemon can learn Surf (like Makuhita/Hariyama, Zigzagoon/Linoone, etc.). I also wonder why Pokemon that are weak to Water can learn Surf (like Rhyperior, Rampardos, etc.)

I`ve always wondered how a Pokémon like Squritle can carry a ten year old kid on its back (using Surf). Same would apply to Fly and little flying types like Starly...

i wonder why ampharos can't learn solarbeam...

i wonder why wormadam(t) can't learn stone edge(or any rock type move, save for stealth rock)

I wonder why Gengar and friends are poison type.

Seriously, Gengar can learn what, three poison moves and none by level up?
Plus nothing about his appearance would suggest it.

I wonder why can't Flareon can't freaking learn Flare Blitz!!!

And why Ghastly and co. are poison types.

The Squirtle changes form to Lapras and the Starly is just very strong. Like a chimp.

The real question is why Ash never ages.

Thought it might've been better to set up the learn-able HM's, based on whether or not the Pokemon could actually do whatever the HM does. Though Fly is one they obviously limited to Pokemon with wings, a fair few do posses wings, yet they cannot learn fly(even if they are capable of doing so, and could carry the player). With Surf, however, it gets a little easier to explain it away. That being that the Pokemon would simply drag the player along in the water(sure at a pace, but not like, say, at 15 knots). Though with certain water types, it doesn't work, as the Pokemon might be unable to do this.

I wonder why you can release a water pokemon on land & they don't die in front of you.. I also wonder why everyone hates ledian

I also wonder why everyone hates ledian

Magikarp used splash! Ledian fainted because it's super frail has shitty typing!

I wonder why Lance's pokemon went down in level during the 3 years between RBGY/FRLG and GSC/HGSS

I wonder why Gyarados is water/fly and not dragon :S Am I alone in thinking that? I also wish that some bug types are part flying but don't learn Fly could learn Fly, E.G. Yanmega, its Dex entry says it can as well!

I'm wondering how you can actually battle on the ocean, when the pokemon you use to surf with is so small... Like, you send out a fire PKMN e.g. Charmeleon. It would faint on spot, theoretically, by having been extinguished.

Another thing is, where the heck to such small pokemon summon all the water from?! I'm talking about when they use the move Surf in-battle, they send a wave crashing on their foe. How can they srpout that from their mouth...? And I'm thinking hpw they can use this, when on land.

this is because in gen 1, there were no damaging dragon moves and thus gyarados would have no weaknesses.

I always wondered how dodrio could fly. A rhyperior can surf. And delibird can rapid spin.

i think small pokemon surf by their trainers grabbing ahold of them while swimming, flyers though, i think they use steroids

i think they stand on those rocks edging you

i wonder how your surfing pokemon can be surfing and battling at the same time

Why isn't Charizard a Dragon-type?

Why isn't there a Dark-type gym yet?

Why does your Mum let you- a child of ten- run around outside in the wild without any parental supervision with only a fire-lizard, turtle, plant... thing, or heck any of the other starter Pokémon- to protect you?
.__. Bad parenting, amirite?

I thought you were older than 10 in the game around 17 :ksmile:
I wonder why they made chaining..
