Do you write reviews for things you buy online?

I do leave reviews, especially if it’s from an Etsy seller. I know reviews help the sellers with getting their products out there.

On Mercari, I try to review as soon as possible because they won’t even release funds to the seller until I rate the item. And I’d rather not have a seller wait three days for an automated review when I can take a few minutes out of my day to make sure the get it in a timely manner.

Usually, I only leave reviews for eBay sellers...

I rarely leave site reviews unless I’m thinking a certain way about the item I bought, which can either be strongly positive or strongly negative. Otherwise if I’m just satisfied or indifferent, I don’t bother with writing one.

Etsy is a whole different story because the sellers on there are mostly indie and so they have to find a way to get you to write a review so those small businesses can grow. I understand the necessity, but I’m sometimes bothered that I’m piling up on alerts just because I couldn’t take time to write a review. I’ve done it twice already just to remove the alerts and I felt like I was forcing myself even though I was happy with my items. ;w;

I hate leaving my IRL name anywhere online, so I never leave reviews not even when I did Etsy (which I don't anymore due to reasons) buys.

If I order something online from anywhere, most likely not going to leave a review.

On aliexpress I do because I think it's good to show images of the product so other people interested in buying it know what they're getting (because, ya know, buying from sites like ali can be a bit of a gamble).

For other online stores though? Naahhh

If I'm buying tea online, I like to tell other tea friends my thoughts, and then also write a proper review on the storefront itself! It adds to the fun of drinking tea, the community aspect... If it's something on Etsy, I'll always write one, since independent creators always deserve support. But if it's something I'm purchasing from a large storefront like Aliexpress or Amazon, though, I'm not interested in doing so, TBH. It just feels a bit more impersonal when I'm not buying directly?
