[I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT, DON'T WATCH IT]
Ack. There's so much to say. I'll start with what I've worked out though.

Amy is pregnant. The Doctor dies. "The Impossible Astronaut".
Basically, the girl in the space suit is Amy's daughter. Amy names the child "River Song" after River Song.
The thing is, River Song is Amy's daughter in the first place. Then, god knows how many years later (or earlier, depending or how you look at it), River Song gets into the space suit and kills the daughter.
"I killed a man, a great man, a hero to many". Then she goes to prison. (At this point she hasn't killed him yet (from our River's point of view)).

That's my theory.

In my opinion, this was the greatest series opener ever (out of the five i've seen).
I can't for the life of me imagine what "Day of the Moon" might contain, but I have a feeling that it'll answer a few questions.
The Silence are interesting. I'm just wondering how they know everything (Amy's name and the fact that she has secrets from the Doctor).

In short: I have a feasible and far fetched theory, the Silence confuse me, Episode 2 is unpredictable and I just had a nerdgasm.
Edpisode Rating: 10/10

Re: Doctor Who: The Impossible Astronaut - my POV

Matt Smith stepping into the Oval Office was priceless.

Re: Doctor Who: The Impossible Astronaut - my POV

I stopped watching around about David Tennant's 2nd series; but watched on-and-off and I have this to say: that was adult! At one point River said "I'm quite the screamer"... I was so shocked. I mean, it's fine that she said that but I did not expect that. Like, at all. I guess I really should have been watching before this!

The Silence scare the shit outta me.

EDIT- Awesome! I have the number of the beast!

Did anyone else notice the ship was the one from the Lodger. And that in the lodger the owners were immitating people who needed help.

Re: Doctor Who: The Impossible Astronaut - my POV

Can a mod just make this the catch-all DW thread? It'd certainly be swell...

Anyhow. Thoughts on the newest episode. The little Time Lord girl that regenerated at the end has to be one of two things.

1- River Song's and The Doctor's daughter

or

2- Remember how when The Doctor scanned to see if Pond was pregnant and it was switching between positive and negative? Maybe it somehow made her a Time Lord. I dunno.

Lastly, and perhaps most farfetched, is my idea that she's the daughter of The Master and Lucy Saxon. Some sort of secret child, perhaps?

Anyways, yeah. Kick ass new episode and I've gotten my father addicted to watching it as well. It was great when we saw the little girl regenerate and we both started going "Whoah, whaaaat?" and mom was completely confused.

Intended to when someone posted about this week's episode. Changed the title to something more appropriate. Let me know if I got the season number wrong, and feel free to start a new one up when the next season starts up.

Yay my thread's been made into an important thingy!! :3
I can't possibly think what Moffat has up that sleeve of his...

Your theory is good, yeah, but after watching EP 2, She's a Time Lord. Woah. So maybe not River.

Then again, she hasn't died yet...

She's not necessarily a Time Lord, it could just be a side effect of being in-utero while spending so much time in a TARDIS.

And put my money on River Song being Amy's mutant time daughter. It's a theory that's gaining a lot of popularity, actually.

My theory: The child is actually the Doctor's daughter from a season or two ago. The Doctor has already proven that you do not appear the same age whenever a timelord regenerates. Considering that the Doctor's daughter is really very young (even though she was "born" as a young adult), future regenerations could be very young.

Although that does not answer why there is a picture of Amy Pond with the girl as a baby. Personally, all I could do was stare at the television saying "what the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck" to myself for a few minutes after she started to regenerate.

Anyways, this is going to be a very interesting season. My only complaint is that it is looking like it's going to be very dark, like last season was. While that isn't exactly a bad thing, I kinda would like to enjoy time and space travel without the thoughts of something extremely sinister and dark lurking beneath the season. Last season, it was the constant reminder of the crack and the knowledge throughout much of the season that something very bad was going to happen.

I think that the child could be River Song. It would be funny if it was the Rani though.

Though who is the mysterious woman in the "window" saying "I think she is still dreaming"? And again in the pirate episode?

Also, has it been reveald what episode the Daleks will be in? Its pretty obvious they will be in it sometime, given they have just had a major redesign, and they have been in every new series (inc the 2009 specials) so far.

Well that could be because Steven Moffat is the devil. He is the goddamn nightmare king. He made the empty child, weeping angels, and was trying as hard as he could to kill off Rose since she started.

The child isn't River Song, River is human.
The Rani is dead.
The Daleks probably won't appear.

I'm also intrigued as to who killed the Doctor... interesting...

I've thought of something too.
"I've been running for too long", that suggests to me that the Doctor knows he's gonna die there. So after the 909 year old Doctor sees himself getting killed, he runs away from it?

I'm fairly confident the child isn't River's. Although we've now had the Doctor's kissing scene with River, I don't think anything too significant will come of it. It I'm going to be blunt, as I kinda want to post here a lot more, and instantly put out there that I don't like River that much.

The Doctor and Amy in the Tardis spoke jokingly of an unborn baby acquiring a 'Time Head' due to time travel. Despite their sarcasm, is this not possible? I reckon that'd be something Moffat would probably try. Obviously the technical term wouldn't actually be 'Time Head', but it makes sense considering it's being heavily implied that Amy's pregnant, and we saw the picture of her and a child in the orphanage. It might sound a little too obvious, but bear in mind the target audience of the show.

Also, the most recent episode with the Tardis in human form, next to Blink, Daleks in Manhatten, and David Tennant's first to Cybermen episodes, is my favourite so far; it was so adorable :3

The Rani is dead.

Was it ever stated? Just because she is a Time Lord (Lady) doesnt mean she has to be dead, the Master came back (twice), and so did the Daleks. Also, Kate O'Mara is still alive, so she could return, or be portrayed by someone else.
