If you live in England, did you see it? if you live anywhere else, have you watched it here yet?
Let us discuss.
As epic as I found David Tennant's Doctor tenure (and as attached as I am to his relationship with Rose, and despite how absolutely depressing it got towards the end), I'm excited about Matt Smith's reign, and I'm not too up in arms about him developing some new relationship with his new hot companion (Stephen Moffat has said that it's going to be a relationship unlike any he's had with a companion, meaning the only option is that he falls unrequitedly in love with her, which is both interesting and sad, if that's it*). I never saw any of the older Doctor Whos, so I feel no connection to the idea of the Doctor being an old man, so that's not an issue either.
The fact is, I like the idea of an old man, with all the wisdom of the universe, in the body of a young man who no one takes seriously. Lot of nice comedy/angst/"You are soooooooooo fucked for underestimating me" potential there, and if there's anything Doctor Who is about and does well, it's comedy/angst/"YASFFUM" moments.
Thoughts? Reactions? Outrage at me mentioning something British on a fansite for a Japanese product?
* Anyone who's interacted with me elsewhere in these forums might be surprised at what a "shipper" I am, but not with how unwilling I am to use the term "shipper."
