Does adrenaline help trigger evolution when the time is right?

It's a recurring theme where Pokemon evolve to save the day in the Anime. It can't seem cheesy but is possible that adrenaline and strong emotions helps initiate the evolution process where the Pokemon is close to it. They can, after all, stop the evolution process so...

I don;t see why not, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. It's not the sort of thing they're likely to ever explain, though.

It's a long shot! Does a Poke even produce Adrenaline? Cause I doubt that a steel Pokemon like magnemite, Voltorb or the Klink line have even body fluids and glads? so it's irrelevant cause they are just showing the story of every Anime! That strong will can take U anywhere and that good guys always win! ETC!

Well, they ARE alive and likely have some form of a brain. As for more animal-like Pokemon, I can see it, especially since they have personalities.

Adrenaline is used as part of the fight-or-flight response, and for a Pokemon, fighting and evolution often go hand-in-hand, so it's entirely plausible.

they are a live but that doesn't mean they have an adrenal gland! And I doubt that they will ever go there! to complex to explain that with every Pokemon! And Plants are alive as well but don't produce adrenaline!

I don't think it's adrenaline. I think it's the writers not wanting to let the younger viewers lose hope to the protagonists.

Well, duh. I'm just asking if it's possible to apply some sort of theory like this rather than dismissing it as a mere plot convenience. Sort of justifying it.

They rarely evolve when they're just sitting around doing nothing - they usually evolved during battles or after battles, so it's when they've been moving energetically, bringing up the tension, so adrenaline COULD be part of the source.

Have we seen any of those Pokemon actually evolve at a dire situation?

Yes. A fair number of Pokemon evolutions in the anime have been triggered through strong emotions between trainers and Pokemon, as well as during situations in which the Pokemon has been threatened:

- Ash's Metapod into Butterfree
- James' first Magikarp into Gyarados (when James kicked Magikarp into the water and the pokemon had to evolve to be able to swim)
- Ash's Charmander into Charmeleon
- Ash's Pidgeotto into Pidgeot
- Brock's Zubat into Golbat, and Brock's Golbat into Crobat
- Ash's Chikorita into Bayleef
- Ash's Taillow into Swellow
- Ash's Snorunt into Glalie
- Ash's Phanpy into Donphan
- Ash's Grovyle into Sceptile
- Ash's Starly into Staravia, and Ash's Staravia into Staraptor
- Dawn's Aipom into Ambipom
- Dawn's Swinub into Piloswine, and Dawn's Piloswine into Mamoswine (although the second instance was as a result of Piloswine learning its AncientPower attack; Piloswine was still threatened by TRio before it evolved so this second evolution should count).
- Ash's Monferno into Infernape
- Ash's Grotle into Torterra
- Ash's Cyndaquil into Quilava
- Almost all of the main pokemon evolutions so far in BW (except for the Sunglasses Sandile that later became Ash's, and Iris's Drilbur) have been triggered this way.
