My food sensitivities are mainly limited to drinks. Any diet sodas or any soda listed as zero sugar is a no, due to the aspartame. I also can’t drink any sparkling beverage (sparkling soda or sparkling water respectively). This also includes bubly drinks and any weird prebiotic sodas. Also, I stay away from all protein powders. I tried a smoothie from my job with the protein powder and had a migraine within the next few hours. Luckily, the migraines/sickness from these sensitivities last a full day at the most so they aren’t too bad. It’s just annoying when you have to be cautious with new foods and drinks.

Does anyone else have similar food sensitivities or did my creation go something like this?

I'll be vauge to avoid going into TMI but i have really bad digestive issues triggered by a rather long list of foods, it really sucks because i feel like i have to eat a very specific limiting diet or i get punished for having the audacity to eat a sandwich. At least i have the gift that is ginger ale and stomach meds to keep me from completely losing my mind.

I'm allergic to tree nuts (pecans, pistachios, walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, etc., but not peanuts or coconut). Not too big a deal most of the time since they're a common enough allergen that avoiding them isn't too hard, but it makes dessert bars at potlucks or as refreshments feel like a game of Russian roulette when people don't bother marking stuff. (Theoretically, this can also be true of dessert menus, but restaurants tend to be pretty clear about noting the ingredients they use. I did get a bit of a shock once when a key lime pie I ordered had pecans or something in the crust, though.)

I think I might also be sensitive to mint, which is most annoying when it comes to oral hygiene products, since you basically need to go into the stuff marketed for children to find anything that doesn't have mint.

I don't do well with fish, avocados, mushrooms, raw tomatoes, and raw peppers. The former three I'm somewhat allergic to (not to an insane degree or anything, like my mom's shellfish allergies, but just enough to make me very sick to my stomach for a while), while I can't digest raw tomatoes and peppers because of their rubbery hides (also applies to mushrooms but the allergy takes priority). I can eat tomato sauce or pureed peppers just fine since it gets around the issue, especially since I adore things like Italian and spicy foods, but I can't eat them in their raw/natural state because I can't digest them (or at least digest them well).

This is no longer an issue but when I was little I used to hate scrambled eggs, I had no problem with eating a boiled egg but if it was scrambled the smell and taste of it gave me the urge to throw up. I eventually overcame this by trying McDonald's bacon egg cheese biscuit sandwich.

I've had IBS since I was essentially a toddler, so it's hard to say for certain if/which foods are too much for my system since my condition triggers seemingly at random most of the time. That being said, energy drinks have made a number on my body every single time I tried one (dizziness, headaches, and other effects that are TMI for this thread) regardless of the brand... :sadsola:

Chocolate icecream specifically gives me digestive issues, and cheez-its give me heartburn - I eat both of them all the time anyway...

I have major sensory issues when it comes to food. The texture, the smell, everything. Even the texture of a food I normally like being just a little off and I can't eat it.

There are very few safe foods for me and thus I do not have a great diet.

I had this weird phase in 2019 where I had cramps every day and cheese seemed to make it worse. I had the worst stomach aches after eating pizza and big foot cheese puffs. Whenever i get stomach aches it seems like they tend to cluster in a span of several months, then just end for a while, then come back to jumpscare me again.

I'm allergic to shrimp and the smell of cod fish when it's being cooked makes my stomach turn.

I'm allergic to bananas - my mom is too, so I blame her, lol. I've only eaten them a few times many years ago, but they taste sour to me and make my tongue swell up and I drool everywhere. Not full on anaphylactic shock, thank goodness, but bad enough that I need to be really careful when I go to smoothie places :(

i can consume pretty much anything but faygo has a history of making my intestines bleed. a shame, because faygo is delicious, on the occasion i'm able to get it.

i'm not especially sensitive to texture but the sensation of biting into meat and finding a surprise crunch is the ultimate appetite killer. bleh.
