Omgea Ruby and Alpha Sapphre spoilers incoming.
I think it would be incredibly awesome if Latias from he 5th movie were to appear in the main anime. Now, I know that this will pretty much not happen, but if there was ever a time for it to happen, it would be soon, to promote the ORAS Mega Lati@s flying mechanic along with the fact that you befriend Lati@s in ORAS instead of catching it.
Proof: (you may need to click on the image to enlarge it, because it is small) Ash is the only person in the anime (besides Tobias) who develops a good relationship with either a Latios or Latias. Here's how I think it could happen. If the anime has a Hoenn festival like it had a Jhoto festival when Heart Gold and Soul Silver came out, then Latias from the fifth movie could be traveling around with it. Latias could have gotten lonely and bored in Alto Mere and wanted to see the world, with the other two Latios staying back to protect the soul dew. Latias and Ash would reconnect and Latias would decide to travel with Ash and company for a while.
That's my reasoning, and if only that happened, then I would be extremely excited, but it could go further. It would be amazing to see Latias mega evolve with the help of Ash. What would be a greater testament to Ash's bond with pokemon then having him mega evolve a wild legendary pokemon?
Now obviously I don't really expect that to happen at all, but it would be amazing. If for some reason the actually have Latias travel with Ash, the biggest problem with the Latias mega evolving is that Ash isn't likely to be getting a keystone until much later after ORAS comes out and the Hoenn Festival occurs. There are other glaring problems too, such as the fact that there hasn't been a pokemon from a movie appear in the anime since Mewtwo from the first movie, which is why this is a wishes thread. But I still think that this is the best opportunity for Latias to appear in the main anime because of how much Lati@s is integrated in ORAS with the flying mechanic, this would be a great way to promote ORAS through the anime.
