I dunno if this has been asked before. But does anyone know about these? Are they fake? I found them while looking through the archives.

Not sure. The copyrights look correct, so it's most likely official. However, I haven't seen anything like this before...

I think it's Sugimori-san drawing the PokeSpec characters for something, but I'm not sure what. Something about the design just seems to point at that.

However, I didn't see Sugimori-san's name, at least not in kanji (the middle part is 'forest' and it's not on anything here).
 
Those aren't the Special Characters though.
 
They seem to have look a bit more like them than the first official pics though. It could just be that Sugimori-san was influenced by that style.

Also, I just thought of it, but shouldn't this go in Pokemon World instead? It's not fanart...

I have no idea which mod to ask about this. D:
 
Yeah, an old Sugimori art thread was here for about 5 years till it was closed so I thought the thread belonged here.
 
There official but not sure if its Sugimori. They were legit comics released in Japan around the time Red and Blue were at their peak. You can also tell because it came with a little "build-it" pikachu.
