Does anyone miss the old Link Cable days?

I kinda miss those days, but its was a hassle if the GB's weren't turned on right, or if the cable came out.

No, I don't. The first time I ever did a union room trade was an extremely satisfying moment.

Nope. When I still had a GBC, I was always afraid that the cable is going to fall down. On GBA the cable was connected more firmly, but still it was a great step forward to get rid of the cable system. Wireless FTW!

I don't. It was kind of annoying. :/ WiFi makes everything so much easier.

It was pretty funny, but wireless is more usefull, because then you have more freedom in moving instead of being clutched together because of the not-extremely-long link cable

It was nice when you traded and you saw your Pokémon traveling through the cable. Othe rthan than aesthetic detail, I don't see why miss the cable, as trading and battling works sexactly as it worked then.

Unless, of course, you want to clone Pokémon (which I did A LOT for getting starters, Hitmons and Eeveelutions before Stadium came out).

Not at all.
Especcially that I lost a Lv 100 Blastoise because of the cable.
And I hated the fact that you had to buy 4 cables for trading in Gen III.

I can still live those days, as I still play all the Generations released thus far. It's actually a rather nice system, though I do prefer to use Pokémon Stadium 2 for Gen I/II trades

Meh? I only ever use one. Plus the GCN/GBA cable for Colosseum/XD: Gale of Darkness, but that's a whole different story.

I really can't think of a single benefit to the link cable. They were bulky, tedious and glitchy. Also, you could easily clone using only the PC.

^ this (except i hate the idea of cloning, but thats another issue)

with a cable the max distance you could be from someone you are trading with: about two feet.
with wireless: across the whole planet.

if it wasnt for that stupid 'you have to have seen it' rule the GTS would be the <ultimate> trading experience.

I only miss it in a nostalgic sense. In terms of practicality, wireless trading is 36 times better. :p

I have to admit, Pokémon sold a LOT of link cables. XD (like come on, who actually owned a link cable before Red and Blue came out?)

yeah but how many of them were actually official cables. i cirtainly didnt buy a real one, the third party ones were often cheaper, and came with up to four way connections. so really ninendo wernt makeing money on that front :)

I knew a few kids with Nintendo link cables, actually, but I have to admit to mine being by Interact. :p I was talking in a general sense, as in "link cables were a hot item" not as a "Nintendo-made-$$$$" sense.

I never tried that,I probably will, since I plan on getting all the third generation games to obtain every non event Pokemon.

But,no. Link cables are too troublesome.

Not at all. It was tedious and costly, and the minute amounts of nostalgia it brings does not compensate for this.

Technically, I miss those days because of what else was back then, but I do not miss the Link Cable.

Wtf are you talking about? You only needed one cable, like this one:

I had the same model, only white.

No, I prefer the WiFi. This way I can trade Pokemon without buying separate versions and a separate game system.

...I was very lonely as a child...

Link Cables were nice. I liked them also in nostagia, but they were a bit impractical. With GCN/GBA, it made it nice. You got more screen to look at.

But then, Wireless still overrules it. I still like them, though.

LOL.

No, I don’t miss using the Link Cable. It was always a pain, even back in the day.

It wasn’t just Pokémon either. Using the Link Cable for games like the Two-Player Mario vs. Luigi mode in Tetris was annoying too.

I’m much happier in the era of wireless.
