Like yeah, the series is still going still to this day, but I think once SIF shut down, everybody forgot about it (I could never really get into the game)...
I haven't really kept up with the newer ones, but μ's still holds a special place in my heart.
I rewatched the original as well as its dubbed version earlier this year, and I think the show is funny, I don't know why. I just really like the characters. And μ's felt so much deeper than Aqours. I felt Aqours were just their quirks/catchphrases (especially Yoshiko, Mari, Ruby, Zuramaru, Dia) and they were just riding off μ's success (and quite literally, Sunshine must be confusing to those who didn't watch the original) Honoka felt complex because she was always guiding people to try new things, but was not perfect (see S1 Ep. 11-12). Nico seems like a gag/meme character (and she kinda is), but she's struggling to maintain her façade to her siblings, and feels greet regret for not succeeding as a school idol her first year .
And then Rin, she is so relatable, nya~
And the music of the series is amazing from all the groups!
So many favorites like START: DASH, 知らないLove*教えて (shiranai love*oshiete love), Deep Resonance, SELF CONTROL!!, Second Sparkle, Tiny Stars, etc.
Like, if for nothing else, the music was my primary motivation to continue learning Japanese back in the day lol
I want to try rewatching Sunshine again (I did watch it completely sans the movie closer to when it came out) as I still do like the characters and the music despite what I said.
I don't know much about Nijigasaki (the music is good of course though), and I watched one season of Superstar!! (I became disinterested after they added more characters. It could have been the best if it focused on just the 5).

I'm not super familiar with it, but my best friend is a huge fan, so I've learned a few things through osmosis. Plus, it and BanG Dream! are both Bushiroad works, so as a huge Bandori fan, I have to give it its dues for paving the way, lol

It's definitely true that SIF shutting down (and the sequel shitting the bed the way it did) dealt a near-mortal blow to the brand, though. I feel like Bandori has kind of taken its place in the public consciousness now, especially with the rise of band anime (Bocchi/Rock is a Lady's Modesty/Girls Band Cry), and MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica absolutely blowing up the way they did.

I never played the game myself but I remember how popular it was. I have fond memories of all the Love Live! dance competitions at the anime conventions I went to. Sometimes it felts like at least one fourth of the attendees were Love Life! cosplayers lol. The dedication to give it their all dancing in a group in full cosplays and wigs was very impressive to me.

I haven't seen any of it, but I want to at some point. I think I'm just waiting for a band anime drought period perhaps xD

Oh heck yes. It was a pretty big thing for a lot of people in my circle back in the day. A lot of people I followed on Twitter were really into it and we'd share our awesome pulls from the games, particularly SIF, a lot... good times. The anime was amazing too and I miss muse and Aqours every day.

Sadly still haven't finished watching Nijigasaki. Just kind of got lazy and forgot.. I also have more attachment to the first two groups so my motivation isn't very high right now. But I'll get to it!!

looking back llsif was a really important part of my life! it helped me make new and lasting friendships during a period of big changes in my life. i think me and my friends all look back at our time with llsif fondly. but none of us really engage with the series at all anymore. we all started losing interest around the time aquors was introduced i think?

to be honest i think i like aquors music more? but i didnt really connect with the characters. i tried watching the aquors anime but i dropped it at some point. i also eventually stopped playing llsif since i realised that i am incapable of engaging with gacha games in a healthy way ^^;

but still! lots of good memories. rin was my fav! i was so excited to get the idolized version of fairy rin. i had a bit of love live merch at one point which ive mostly sold now though i do still have a mini nendoroid of rin in her angelic angel outfit!

Yes, of course, I was a played so much SIF that I was in the top 100/500 sometimes even top 50 in a lot of the japanese server events back in the day. These days, I've grown tired of Love Live because of the real time bs with hasu, can't keep up with Blue Bird, and with no mobile rhythm game to play, my joy for Love Live is now mostly on the backburner.
