I was wondering, do you think Charizard looks male or female?

I would definitely say male, and not just because of its gender ratio (all starters are 87.5% male/12.5% female). A red/orange fire-breathing dragon just looks male to me. I always considered Charizard male before genders were introduced.

In some sprites it looks female, but overall it's male.

Maybe I'm just biased, but all starters look male to me.

Charizard has manly and savage qualities, so yea it looks male. But that doesn't mean it can't be a female.
It would be weirder to see a female Emboar.

Even in real life, I always assume all bears are male.

Multiple options? Strange choice.

Anyway, Charizard is definitely a male-like Pokemon. It possesses savage qualities like its fierce face, and its colour is very much masculine. Of course, as have been mentioned, the gender ratio is highly male. There's not much to explain why Charizard is very male-like, actually, so I can see how the survey is biased to male. If you ask about Meganium's sexuality inclination, that will sprout more discussion.

Thanks for reading.

I say male. I mean Charizard is a dragon/fire lizard type thing. That definitely screams male.
And Charizard isn't cute like Igglypuff or anything. Charizard looks through and through male just because he looks tough and strong.

I'm the only one that choose female so far? Really? D8

Bah, it's just my annoying crusade against gender stereotypes. OTL I had a male Charizard in FireRed, but I never soft-reset for genders, I took what I got.

I honestly cannot see anything about Charizard that makes him male or female. And dude, Charizard can't be cute?

Instant cuteness, just add a bow. ._.

MODS: Please add a poll! That darn 502 error prevents me from addidng the poll!

Just because the starters have a significantly higher chance of being male it doesn't make them look any more male, or mean they should look more male. Even though they'll probably be male, I always see Meganium, Blaziken, Venusaur and Serperior as female.

For some reason, I think HGSS Charizard looks kind of... momly. Protect-the-nest, hell-hath-no-fury momly, but still looks like a mom.

They all look like gender-neutral "it" to me because they're a species.

I guess a further question would be "why do you see it as one or the other and why do you associate those traits with that gender?"

Women can also be tough, and Charizard looks pretty "could go both ways" for me.

That would be a pretty interesting topic. :)
