In Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! (Part 2) there's a weird scene where Ash is on the ground screaming Riolu's name and then it cuts to J doing a silent gasp and then staring intently at Riolu. Whats so weird about this scene is that J was inside her ship hundreds of feet in the air so she couldn't have possibly heard Ash from that height and Ash's scream couldn't have been that high pitched. Whats even weirder is that J looks at Riolu somewhat in a way that makes it seem like shes having reservations about giving it up to her client.

Am I reading too much into things or is this an idea the writers initially had but decided not to flesh out?

It's no ESP, it's the Aura, man!

The Aura is with J. She must be some kind of non-self-realised Aura user. Kinda like Force sensitives who are just rogues and can do a trick or two but are badass and maybe even have snatched a lightsaber.

Wait a minute... she just became OVER 9000 times more awesome!

There must have been a aura between Ash and Riolu, J could sense it. Other then that she may have seen it move. Unless she has some odd super-villain power.

she has the powers of knowing where a pokemon is by ash's awesome powers of aura

She does.

I think it could have just been random... but then again, it has been mentioned before that "aura" is a life force that exists within every living thing, almost exactly like the Force (or Schwartz:p) from Star Wars. It's just that there are certain people that are able to channel and use their aura for superpower-like abilities, like Ash, Riley, Sir Aaron, and Riolu/Lucario.

Exactly, Aura exists in everyone. It could just be that at that specific moment she was exposed to such a high level of it; that she could sense something (Not knowing what it was, but knowing something weird was coming from Riolu). It's like electromagnetic fields; we don't know where they are, but if exposed to enough of them, they begin to affect us. *plays voice clip of Grant explaining some of the possible effects...Paranoia, Skin Irritations*
