You know all of those extremely expensive robots Team Rocket has? I wonder if James makes them, he seems mechanically apt. If he doesn't I wonder how much they cost. Meowth's balloon must also cost Meowth quite some money.
Sorry if this pondering seems stupid.

Nah, there's obviously a high demand for overly-large mecha in the Pokemon World, so there are professional mecha-makers. Though I always thought there was a company, like Acme Company from Loony Toons, that made them and other products used by the 'evil teams'. Their slogan could be 'Evil products for a someday evil world.'

I was thinking that when they visited Battle Frontier that Mondo secretly fixed their balloons. But, when they're in Sinnoh, who has to pay for them? Not Team Rocket, since Givonaii forgot about them, so either Meowth makes them himself and buys the material, or he gets them from some provider. By the way, those balloons must be around a thousand dollars, I suppose.

Dude, you keep misspelling that name. You'd think a big Rocket fan would at least get *close* to spelling the name "Giovanni" correctly. It's not even a made up name--it's the Italian form of John! A simple glance at a name book could solve it!

I thought Meowth made them ... haven't they had arguments about who does what and Meowth claims that he does all the physical stuff? Maybe not so much anymore, but in the beginning Meowth was definitely the most clever.

I'm sorry if I mispelled the name but where else have I mispelled it? Goodness, you don't have to get so aggresive over this. And now my Rocket pride is hurt *sobs*

On topic: I am 99% sure that Jessie doesn't make them at all. When I start to look at Battle Frontier, I had this cute yet illogical idea that James and Mime. Jr worked on the robot together. Which makes me wonder, how much do you think each robot costs?

Given the fact that none of them has worked as yet, too much.

This isn't exactly an "economics" show, so to speak.

What makes you think they pay for them!? They're Team Rocket; they do as they please.

Every time one of their machines gets destroyed they gripe about how much it cost them. Though you do make a good point. It pcould have also cost them that much to mob a poor guy walking with his robot and painting an R on it.

James used all the money in their bank account to pay for the ArboTank's special features, and all three worked their asses off to pay for the Meowthinator Impersonator. And that's just two examples. It's clear that they pay for their mechas. Something tells me they also build most of their post-Kanto mechas on their own, though I'm not sure what.

Jessie is very terrible at dealing with technology and machinery, and Meowth doesn't have proper opposable thumbs. Safe to say that James is the one in charge of constructing the mechas, then (with Meowth helping out and Jessie pretending to understand anything about mecha-building and bossing them around). Man, he's too multitalented to live, this guy.

Bravo, I could not have said this any better myself.

she did get (build?) a mecha once all by herself tho (from episode 42)

the other two were surprised

Yes, she could have.
That would explain why it's got a tutu and bows. I mean, can you imagine anyone else actually building that?

It only now occurs to me how lame this mecha looks. That, and the fact that James and Meowth were surprised, only proves that usually she DOESN'T build the mechas, or else all of them would have little metal bows.

I am just saying that Meowth probably buys the balloons. Think about it; Jessie and James being as egotistical as they are, would they honestly buy a balloon with Meowths face on it.
