I know that Officer Jennys have a responsibilities finding a Pokemon stolen, lost or protecting it. The Jennys have responsibilities for missing trainers, protecting trainers or jailing trainers for their crimes, which is technically minor, like stealing a legendary or/and regular Pokemon or being a member of the evil organization like Team Rocket, Aqua, Magma, Galactic and Plasma.

Does heinous crimes exists in Pokemon anime? I think maybe a yes.

I don't really remember any major crimes happening in the Pokemon Anime... However there was that one banned episode back in the original series where Ash and his friends got held hostage by a guy at the safari zone... I cant remember whether the police got involved though.

Actually, the warden was just so uptight that pointed a gun at Ash. No hostage situations involved.

I'd like to say that major crimes do happen in the Pokemon World but they're not focused on in the series.

Thanks fr=or clearing that up, my memory of some of the early episodes are quite vague.

Yeah, they probably do. Plus, the guy DID have a gun, so stuff must happen. I mean, otherwise he wouldn't need the gun.

There's no doubt in my mind.

I bet if they ever have a more mature audience geared spin-off anime set in the same place, I'm sure they would show that kind of stuff.

That would make for an interesting series indeed!

I dont think that the anime has ever shown a pokemon successfully being stolen. Wouldn't it seem really bad and even weird if we saw someone's pokemon get stolen and never rescued? (Especially if it happened to a main character). Jessie, James, and Meowth are seen as failures in the anime because they cannot steal a single pokemon. If they are such failures compared to the rest of team rocket then that means that pokemon are getting permanently stolen all the time. Picture Cassidy and Biff running going around and stealing poor kids's best friends. Yeah, it happens.

Also, if there was an anime about the Orre region I'm sure there would be more crime and stuff.

THE NAME IS BUTCH!!!!!!!!! lol

judging by how they have guns in the anime, you know there'd be crimes involving them too

Actually, that was mostly the first season. I imagine criminal use Pokemon to steal stuff but blast anyone with whatever attacks. Maybe even train Pokemon to be powerful enough to pose as a threat to anyone. I can see a bunch of goons using a Gyarados to hold up a bank.

I see the evil organizations (Rocket, Magma/Aqua, Ginga, Plasma) as being the closest things to terrorists this franchise will ever give us.

Except for this part.

Well okay but Ash wasn't held hostage.

But wasn't THIS guy held hostage...? In a way? I mean, this is probably the most sinister thing Team Rocket has done! Well, aside from cutting off slow poke tails in the games. Team Plasma "steals" Pokemon in the games(and they will when they come in the anime).... That's kind of a crime, right?

seriously, the Safari Zone gets banned, but Here Comes the Squirtle Squad doesn't... They both have guns-in-people's-faces moments...

Yes, but admittedly, Team Rocket (of all people) wantonly holding up the Safari Zone guy with one one, but two handguns was quite a bit more prolonged and intense than the store owner pointing that rifle at ash for a moment thinking he was another robber.
