Whenever I meet someone interested in Pokemon, and you're chatting about it or whatever, a certain pokemon is then mention and the Pokemon person puts on a stupid sqeeky voice and says the name of the pokemon in imitation of the pokemon in the anime. I don't mean to be a kill joy but it really ticks me off! Particularly if they're more "mature" pokemon fans. I think that the fact pokemon say their own names in the anime is really childish, I would have preferred if they had used the cries from the games just more polished up. But that aside anyone saying the name of pokemon in that stupid voice is annoying, particularly when playing the TCG! Am I alone? >_<
 
Well, I probably find it funny the first few times, but after a while it'd definatly get annoying. So no, you're not a killjoy.
 
i guess i would find that annoying after a while but i never meet anyone who is interested in real life so i really cannot be sure
 
That could get annoying after a while... But I think I'd rather hear "Raichu rai" or "Dit ditto" instead of "Zaiii kon kon" or "i-i-i-i-bank".

Dude, he said he wanted the game sounds more polished up. That means they wouldn't even sound like that, instead they'd give off a realistic animal roar or growl--and quite frankly I agree with him. I'd love to hear something like that too.

As for the original topic though, heck yes. Even doing it once makes me wanna smack the person. Not only does everyone KNOW what the pokemon sound like, but only a small percent of people can imitate them perfectly. Even people who think they can do them good are usually way off, just fooling themselves.

In the end I'm nice and don't mention it, but I seriously just wanna say "Hey ya, that's cute. Now shut up."
 
*Gasp!* How dare you enter my head and steal my words, Zane2000! I couldn't agree with you more (especially on the cries>names in the anime part, even if it is off topic).
 
Yah, that can sometimes bother me... but I found myself imitating pokemon alot so I guess im kinda a hipocrit <--- dont know how thats spelled.) And I dont like get pissed at someone if they do it, heck if its good I compliment. (=
 
How can anyone hate the voices? I hate that they don't use the voices for the games!
 
I hate the voices. I mean... How could a sound that an animal make coincidentally be a portmanteau of several existing words?
