Just found this gem on Youtube the other day, and was wondering...did anyone else ever watch this show?

For a video-game cartoon, it's pretty well made and funny.

And some of the songs are actually pretty good, even if they are corny.

So...discuss. Youtube has some episodes and songs up if you wanna check out yourself. I really hope someone releases DVD's like they did of the old Mario show.

INKA DINKA DOO! XD
I was too young to remember much... but i remember it was pretty bad, they sang TWICE every episode!. >_0

And yeah, even for a kids show, the writing was pretty bad......

*raises hand proudly* I loved that show. :p It was corny as hell, sure, but that's... part of its charm? A lot of the voices were completely unfitting for the characters (particularaly DK and Diddy) and Candy and Dixie were horribly ugly, but whatever. I would love for the series to have a complete DVD release... especially since I hardly remember it.

Diddy's voice sounds like the games one, imo. High and monkey like.

DK's normal voice is odd, but his singing voice is pretty damn nice.

I like the writing. King K. Rool and Klump have some pretty funny lines.

I LOVED that show (even though it was French).

I think it was really corny, but that just added to the fun! Since Donkey Kong Country was my favourite game series back then, I was so PSYCHED back in 1998 when I saw previews to it...

Trivia: The show originally came out in France in 1996, BEFORE Donkey Kong Country 3. This would explain why there's no references to that game, at least in Season 1.

Dang it, Baby Kong was NO Kiddy Kong...

Speaking of Baby Kong, I found it weird that he was supposed to be a baby version of Donkey Kong, which was caused when he drank that age potion thingy, yet in later episodes he was his own character.

If the we ever get a game when the characters talk more than a few grunts and lines here and there, I hope Nintendo decides to hire the cast from this show.

I remember one episode where DK and Diddy are left in charge of the Crystal Coconut while Cranky goes to calm a Yeti by making him laugh. While they fight the boredom in guarding the Coconut, Didy finds one of Cranky's spellbooks and reads the line "Take one banana and zing zang zoom"...and it turns into a big Broadway production as DK and Diddy work at creating the supposed potion.

What they don't realize while they're working and singing; is that those magic words make the Crystal Coconut fly away.

I LOVED this show so much! I own the movie! I still watch it for the singing pirates.

I'd die if they released this on dvd. =D

The "movies" they had were all sets of three episodes...

uhh who forgets Legend of the Crystal Coconut?
