Don't like Kotone? Let's talk...

In otherwords, for those of you who have not had the pleasure: Kotone is a reference to the original Crystal game. Gamefreak made an in joke, and it was brilliant.

That's just a glitch. Doubt that Sugimori had time to do that and say "oh, this looks more interesting than Kris"

It's a glitch caused by the fact that the boy's and girl's character sprites use different palettes in Crystal. Nothing that Nintendo would reference or be aware of.

I highly doubt that's the reason, if I can I'll find and post a rather humorous image I found kind-of comparing Kotone and Kris. Annnd found it:
