Don't you hate when you can't catch an easy Pokemon?

I found a Lvl. 12 Golduck in Silver, just now, but I couldn't catch him. I paralyzed him but my Pokemon are too high a level to attack him without KO'ing him.
I recalled my Noctowl knows Hypnosis, but since he was paralyzed it didn't effect him. The only Pokeballs I had on me are a Moon-ball, 2 Great-balls, some Ultra-Balls and a Master-Ball. I eventually just knocked him out.

At times it just seems like you can't catch easy to catch Pokemon. It's especially harsh when you're Pokemon are too high a level to hit it without knocking them out.

Or when you want to catch a legendary but you can't. That's the problem with Pokemon that run away too.

Anyone had any notable experiences of this kind?

It took me 14 Pokéballs and my patience to capture a lvl 3 Pikachu in LeafGreen...
Strangly, when I first saw Latias in Pokémon Emerald I just used an Ultra Ball in the first turn and caught it.

You bet.

Stupid Moltres & Mesprit in Platinum.

You can't even see their health, but yet they still escape from everything that you have.

And I remember this Lv. 16 Caterpie, that refused to be caught... I mean, a CATERPIE?

i always got my high leveled zigzagon with me one the lead. cannot miss any pokemon.

Oh yes. Which is why when I go Pikachu hunting in the Viridian Forest, I take all necessary precautions.

Had issues with a Butterfree in the Bug Contest the other day...

Not as bad a Regice, though. That thing hates me. I exhausted a supply of sixty balls with it paralyzed and False-swiped before it knocked itself out with Struggle the first time on Sapphire. The second time it finally caught after being in similar health for forty-something balls. No other legendary has been that resistant.

I'm can't catch weak pokemon very well, but I'm amazing at catching legendaries. Odd.

I couldn't catch Swellow on platinum. It was only level 12. I got it down to low yellow in one hit and didn't risk attacking, so I just hucked Ultra Balls until I ran out, then I switched the Great Balls, which eventually finished it.
