Don’t you wish we could have fully seen Cynthia’s battles with the Sinnoh Elite 4?

It is as if each time Ash met up with one of the E4, they are preparing for a match against the champ. The ones that I know of that were going to fight her were; Lucian, Aaron and I believe Flint said something about it in DP 180 about fighting her.

From what we see of the matches, Cynthia takes out the strongest of her opponent’s Pokemon with Garchomp, it took out Bronzong with Giga Impact and at the beginning of her match with Aaron it fought Drapion.

Personally, I wouldn’t have mind if they literally took an episode to show the full battles. To me my first thought of why they didn’t show these battles was because it may show Ash a way to win. This was because I thought he would face the E4, and the writers didn’t want use to know the Pokemon of these trainers along with Cynthia. Well, it seems that this may not be the case, but the DP series isn’t over yet. I mean I want to have an idea of just how strong Cynthia is. It was said that Aaron’s last Pokemon was Beautifly and it was Gastrodon that took it down, I wanted to know how many she had left.

Does anyone think that these matches were worth viewing in their entirety?

The battles would have been worth viewing (to show Cynthia's status as Champion). Ash would have learned something by watching one of those battles.

I think it would have been worthwhile. I suppose the two minute battles were mainly to just give the Elite more reason for appearing in the first place. But I would have liked to have seen the battles if I hadn't presumed Ash didn't battle the Elite Four.

In a way, it's better if they don't show the entirety of Cynthia's battles with the E4. Just give little sneak peeks until unveiling their full power, preferably against Ash.

Except there's only going to be around at most 8 episodes left until Best Wishes, and we already know at least 3 of those are Sinnoh League, with a probably 2 or 3 more Sinnoh league episodes.

The writers could have focused on the Elite 4 if they hadn't had so much fillers.

So what's the problem? Lycopene said "battling the Elite Four," not "defeating the Elite Four and Cynthia."

Meh. Not really. I'd expect just to see tons of OHKOs if we did see them.
It would've been nice if we did get a little peek at Oba's match vs her though.

Whoa, after seeing the match: Cynthia vs. Flint today I really wish we could see all of the matchups!! That match was really intense considering the type matchups. Also, it was cool to see Flint’s Infernape using a blue Flare Blitz like Ash’s.

It looked to me like Flint had the best battle with Cynthia out of the other battles that we got mere glimpses of. Infernape was putting up a great fight, but I can’t help but wonder if Blaze powered Ash’s Infernape…how would it do in battle with Garchomp? I like Flint’s a little bit better in the area of attack moves especially since it knows a powerful Fighting-type move: Close Combat instead of just knowing Mach Punch.

I wouldn’t mind like a pseudo-Chronicles series where the E4 matches were shown because those look like matches that really are exciting to watch again and again.

Flint was the only member of the Sinnoh Elite 4 who was actually "important." As in, his presence in the series was not tied down for a one episode-only appearance. The male Elite Four members all shown an interest to battling Cynthia for the Champion title. However, we haven't seen much of Aaron or Lucian battling, so it was difficult to be excited over their fights.

Bertha was the only other Sinnoh Elite Four member, although she was clearly more experienced than either of her colleagues. I could have wished we saw Bertha battle Cynthia, especially since she lectured about the importance of observation.

No, I meant like a sort of side series like a Chronicles if you will. Though I will say that taking time out to show the E4 battles would be way more exciting that useless fillers and TR plots that are bound to fail.

True, Flint was in a sense the most important of the Sinnoh E4, but true Bertha would be an interesting match. Seeing pure experience and wisdom against the power of the Champion would definitely be a match worth viewing! I was looking at that episode today when Bertha was introduced, imagine her along with the gang in each TR scheme where she could easily identity them. Talk about a major time saver!!

I’m not sure because it is not explained, but I wonder if the E4 matches are full battles. We can at least assume that they are more than one on one based on Aaron’s match where we see Beautifly/Drapion vs. Garchomp/Gastrodon.

Another thing I was wondering was the stadium that Cynthia and Flint were battling in. It looked like a coliseum of some kind. It must be where the TOP trainers fight and I can’t wait to see if we will be treated to matches like this again.

It would at least be a 3 on 3. The emcee mentioned that Flint managed to defeat two of Cynthia's Pokémon, only to lose to Garchomp.

I would love to see the E4 as well as Takuto (though initially I want that one to be Ash) battling against Cynthia.
