As most players know, the singles and doubles are pretty different. There are moves and abilities meant for double battles (Helping Hand, Heal Pulse, Follow Me, Rage Powder, and some others for example), and there are moves that hit both targets, or every Pokemon on the field.

I made this thread so people could help me think of interesting, creative and unique team strategies, or just really effective individual movesets designed for double-battles. We can also come up with strategies together for different Pokemon! Let's be creative! ^^

So to start this thread off, let's take a good look at Greninja and Volcarona.

Greninja's protean works very well especially in doubles! He also has Hydro Pump, Gunk Shot, Ice Beam, Dark Pulse and Mat Block. With Helping Hand assistance, he's pretty darn scary to fight against. =P

Our friend Volcarona is a really interesting Pokemon to see in doubles too! She has Quiver Dance, Heat Wave and Bug Buzz which hit both targets and Rage Powder to lure. She also has Solarbeam and Hurricane for Sunny Day and Rain Dance teams respectively.

So would anyone like to help me come up with sets for not just these two, but for really any Pokemon fit for doubles? I'm sure we can come up with some really interesting strategies! :)

I've thought about using mat block for a long while, but it's just too gimmicky to be reliable.

1st pokémon:
Drifblim
Unburden
Stockpile
Minimise
Recycle
Baton Pass
Weakness Policy
252 Def, 252 SpDef, 4 HP

2nd pokémon:
Bronzing
Heatproof (drifblim lowers the likelihood of earthquake being used)
Trick Room
Reflect
Light Screen
Explosion
Light Clay
252 HP, 128 Def, 128 SpDef

3rd pokémon:
Shuckle
Contrary
Shell Smash
Sandstorm
Infestation
Rest
Chesto Berry
252 HP, 128 Def, 128 SpDef

4th pokémon:
Tangrowth
Regenerator
Ingrain
Leech Seed
Synthesis (still restores a third of health with sandstorm up)
Psych Up
Safety Goggles
252 SpDef, 128 HP, 128 Def

EDIT: I noticed that the team isn't quite right, but I'll leave it as it is.

Would you be interested in testing your team against me in a 2v2 double battle on ORAS?

Sure, but I still have to find a Bronzong before it's ready. It might be a while, as I've just collected Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, and being one of my favourite game series it's taking priority over finishing the team.

Ok, so send me a message whenever you're ready. I love double battles!
