So this is the one heerosferret was talking about in the Flint/Volkner ep thread. It's really got some fantastic crack in here. Sorry that my scanner is such massive fail, but here.

Haha, that would explain why Johanna gets to keep her poofball hair! Although it would shift the timeline consideribly given that Cyrus would have been in high school when you were born.

OK, so character requests! I don't actually have any scanned of Jun, but I can try to find some. I can't remember how much he's in the book, since the action focuses on the two PCs. But there was a request in the other thread for minor gameverse characters. So here's the lady who won't let you in Amity Square without something cute (and she has a very limited idea of what that means), the move relearner, the lady who gives you ribbons because she's bored, Maylene's deadbeat gambling addict dad, and the guy who tells you about eggs (I thin he's the one who gives you the Happiny egg).

This is awesome! Great represantations of overworld sprites of lesser important characters, or as Maxim would say "rare characters".

Palkia and Mr. Backlot one made me lol.
 
Interesting discovery.
This Quiz Book should be accurately investigated in order to find as canon data (feasible to integration into Bulbapedia) as possible. And maybe rare characters' pictures as well.
 
Well, the canon is sort of...odd. Like while we know the townspeople hate how Volkner saps their electricity for his gym, I doubt they'd try to storm the gym because of it.

Although it confirms which of the E4 is Buck's brother, but that's about all I can think of.

Maybe because Denzi doesn't give a damn for their complaints, so they have stopped that by now.
 
This book is so awesome.

So much artwork - rare characters and items! And so much game canon...

Thanks to this book, we have artworks for things that were omitted by anime, mangas and Sugimori arts! So awesome!

I also found out that such books also exist for RS and FRLG. How cool!

I wish I had all those books...

Generally, I'm so glad that those books exist. Wonder if there is (or will be) one for HGSS, I haven't found one yet.

Keep up the good work, Blackjack. Some rare characters feel like good birthday present for a Legendary Character Hunter like me...

Don't see why would it be bootleg. Japanese really don't publish unofficial books (not to mention that a bootleg would have to contain fictional or dramatically altered "Pokemon" designs and names, to avoid lawsuits, otherwise it would go unpublished, but there are no such books in Japan after all [in Western World, there are]).

And those books are available in most Japanese bookstores.

There's no way it could be unofficial.

Also, the art style is very similar to the short Pokemon anime episode mangas from Pokemon Wonderland.

There are really many never-published-outside-Japan official books on Pokemon. Many of them contain unique art or info. Their contents are unknown to us.

Well, there's lots of fan-made books in Japan--they're called doujinshi. However, this is official. Only real books have ISBNs.

Or did you mean official as opposed to those "unauthorized guides"? No, this is authorized.

There was also promotional Platinum art that had that sort of cutsey art style.

Is there one that had Cyrus's grandfather who lived in the desert at the north-eastern island or was this book pre-Platinum?
 
This book is pre-Platinum. There's no Shaymin, no Arceus, no Darkrai, and Giratina is only in its Altered Forme. Also there's very little about TG in the book in general. Only one question specifically about them (it's about which commander doesn't use the pokemon they're pictured with--Jupiter doesn't have a Hippowdon) and there's references to them in two more (one is about who it is that follows Volkner around with Cyrus as an incorrect answer (although they *are* from the same town...), and the other is the one about what your mother used to do with Galactic Grunt as an incorrect answer).
