DP: Week 2 in Japan

First week sales from Bulbanews (which got it from Famitsu):

G/S: 1,425,768
R/S: 1,245,003
D/P: 1,575,266

So combined sales figures after two weeks:

G/S: 1,864,048
R/S: 1,716,541
D/P: 2,041,539

And people say Pokémon is dying...

If the DS was thought of as a gamble by Nintendo, it's obviously paying off incredibly well.

As one who was not looking for proof that Pokémon is far from dying, or that the Nintendo DS is a gamble turned success, these figures mean very little in my eyes.

I would say that for Diamond and Pearl to exceed Red and Green, a great change will need to have occurred by the time of their stateside release. The question is whether such an achievement is really in Nintendo's interest.

Looking at the Japanese charts, Diamond is still outselling Pearl but has been knocked off the top spot:

1 (NEW) Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! Neo (PS2) 263,897
2 (1) Pokemon Diamond (DS) 254,080
3 (2) Pokemon Pearl (DS) 212,193
4 (NEW) Gundam Battle Royale (PSP) 64,986
5 (5) New Super Mario Bros. (DS) 40,114

You know it won't... Anime games tend to sell off to all their fans earily. It'll probably hang on for a bit in the top 20 though.

Does anybody know info on the shipment status though? I know we can assume something was sent, but it seems to me that DS games are slower to make than GBA games due to the numbers of games that seem to be put out.
