Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl begins airing two weeks from now, Thursday, September 28, 2006, the same day as the game release.

The preview (which will be available at this URL when it finishes uploading... in an hour or so...) is not informative at all. A collage of images, previously posted:

I am curious as to whether or not Ash will be in the first D/P Episode, and am hoping he is ^_^
Maybe the reason why Pokemon fight is becuase of Team Rocket or some thing.

I wonder if Hikari is going to switch to a tux EVERY time she enters a Contest. Would be like the games, but at the same time be very lame.

The writers are going to have to work hard to make Hikari a different character from May and Misty, but I'm quite worried actually.

I hope she gets a different outfit in every contest. ^__^ Well, I mainly hope she isn't doing them at all, but if she is, then yes... costume time. Between her and Jessie, this could shape up to be a very girly contest arc.

Eh, it's pretty obvious if you ask me. Why else would she be wearing a tux and looking all coordinator-y?

In the games when you perform Super Contests, your character changes into a tux.

It seems to be what Hikari is doing. Either way, the writers are going to have to work their asses off to prove that Hikari and her arc are not boring rehashes of May's story.

Since they can't possibly top Drew/Harley I wonder how her rivals can be interesting or unique. They pretty much used every shoujo stereotype with all of May's coordinators.

If she is doing the Super Contests, I hope that's her outfit. The girl-tux thing is wicked cool! And I love the bowtie.

Heck, just showing her in that outfit makes her cooler than any other female twerp we've had yet in my book. X3 (Jessie's still my favorite female character, though.)

Well, they could actually have Hikari have some female rivals instead of just feminine men. Nothing like a good catfight. Hell, what if they're both competing for the same boy? That's a bit trite, but it'd be new for Pokemon.

Since this seems to be clips of the first episode....I'm saying that tux thing is a dream Hikari has on the way their.

It is more likely a daydream, but it still tells us what Hikari plans to do in the future.

Unless she changes her mind, she wants to be a coordinator from the getgo.

May was originally going to do Gyms. (Though she didn't want to and chose to be a coordinator as soon as she discovered that option.)

Hikari: I want to do contests!
Ash: NO! You can't, or else you will be on the May Fan's hitlist!
Hikari: YIKES! Okay, nevermind!

May didn't originally want to be a trainer at all. She was just going along with it as an excuse to travel. It was obvious that she'd eventually warm up to Pokemon and find a goal.

If Hikari already likes Pokemon and has a goal in mind, though, it's less obvious how the writers would have her switch careers. Although I daresay they could still do it if they wanted to.

One way of them not making her a May clone is for her to do both, Gym's and Supercontests...

Seriously? That's the logic we're using here? Because she looks all "coordinator-y"???

So this means that nobody's going to be allowed to appear in the show anymore with a tuxedo without people assuming that he or she is a Coordinator? So if Butler ever shows up in the series (unlikely, I know), will he have to get a change of clothes to avoid the Coordinator label?

I think a lot of you are just jumping to conclusions.
