Pochama fails miserably appealing in what's probably an imaginary contest hall. It goes off with a bunch of water Pokémon to train, until they get captured, prompting Pochama to make an appeal-worthy rescue attempt.

Apparently Shin'ou-native water Pokémon do not exist in the wild in Shin'ou, judging by this population.

Not that there are a whole bunch of those...

They don't seem to have much problem taking liberties with the rather small Pokemon Population in Shino anyway if the first 5 eps are anything to go by.

But aren't Ludicolo and Poliwag non-native?

This episode has GREAT animation, btw...

I wonder who the "evil Pokemon" is?

I don't see why it matters, the anime has always had Pokemon from other games all over the place.

Anyway, Hikari screws up with her appeals, surprise surprise. I'd probably be more excited if this wasn't the second time we're watching a newbie coordinator struggle with appeals, but at least Poochama is interesting!

Hikari imagining herself in a dress again, she seems far more interested in showing off than coordinating. It's pretty cool if they play up the rich girl attitude, since Hikari apparently has had the good life.

What's annoying is Hikari's mother won a Grand Festival yet Hikari doesn't know what she's doing. Surely she watched her mother in Contests, right?

Is it me, or do the Ludicolo's seem to be atagonist (the evil Pokemon mentioned)?

Demanding Golduck supply them with sweet Poke-crack no less...

ANYWAY, I noticed.

Ash-theme episodes have "Satoshi's New Theme" playing for the preview.
Hikari episode (like this) have By My Side Instrumental playing for the preview.

Haha, awesome. I love the fact that Hikari is being shoved down our throats. Even if she is just another coordinator, better to focus on a fresh new character than the stale old characters.

Really? I rarely notice instrumental music in Pokemon episodes.

Oh do you mean May? If so I have to agree with yah there. Any ways this episode looks great, I'm loving the animation in it and I can't wait to see Hikari battle.

Are you stupid? Is May on the cast at the moment? No. The writers can't possibly focus on a character who isn't there, so instead of focusing on Ash for the third episode in a row or Brock, (who has yet to really do anything in D/P so far), they're focusing on the brand new character. Most of the Kanto characters are all stale, (neither Ash, Brock or Team Rocket are anywhere near as interesting as they used to be, they can all be one-dimensional at times because they've been on this show for far too long), so we're focusing on the girl with a clean slate.

Hikari daydreams, well, that's new to this series at least. Especially when she imagines her Pokemon shooting the audiance. And the "X"'s from Ash, Brock, and Pikachu as if they were judges was just icing on the cake.

That little scene of Pochamma bobbing his head deserves to be made a gif, NOW!

No but May has become stayle and was just saying how glad I was that she's gone.

Aside from the fact that she went out in her prime. A stale character is a character who doesn't do anything and has no plotline anymore, or is pretty bland. The Contest arc and Drew/Harley were in full force in May's final saga and doesn't reflect that.

If she thinks May was "stayle", I wonder what she thinks of Misty... -_-
