Review DP009: Let's Play with Mimirol!?

Well, there wasn't a thread up for it yet, so here it is. Here's my flawed translation of the synopsis posted in NewType:

One morning, while Hikari is sleeping in, Satoshi's Aipom starts causing trouble. While trying to stop it, Satoshi's Pikachu comes dangerously close to colliding with Junsa's police bike! However, it is saved by someone who throws something at Pikachu to rescue it! Who is Pikachu's savior, and what was thrown at it??

BTW--This week will be episode 9, not episode 8. Last week's preview thread erroneously showed the Guregguru episode as #7, but "Try Your Best, Pochama!" is #7 and Guregguru is #8. That thread name was throwing me off every time I saw it all last week!

We've known about Hikari catching Mimi ever since the opening debuted. All the manga really gave us was the ship with Pikachu.

And it told us the bunny has Ice beam before Hikari even catches it. As if Ice beam wasn't already blatantly overused by May's Squirtle, the fact that we have to sit through even more Ice beam appeals is going to be taxing.

Why do the writers love Ice appeals so much? We got enough of them between Skitty's Blizzard, Squirtle's Ice beam, and the other coordinators like Lapras' Sheer Cold and Brianna's Sukrit.

The fact that Hikari's bunny knows Ice beam too makes looking foward to its appeals kinda dull. How many times can you watch an ice sculpture be formed?

The writers are lazy, talentless hacks who need an excuse to use massive amounts of CGI.
I wuvs teh bunny. Almost as much as the sexy crack monkey with ass-raping powers. Which, when it evolves, will gain the ability to ably engage in threesomes.
Bunny & Pika should put the final nail in the coffin of the "Pikachu is female" theory.

I noticed in the preview that knocked out Pochama was seeing Torchics circling it's head. Clever refrence to Haruka, or more evidence that Hikari is an evil rip-off? You decide!

The writers like Ice appeals because ice rules ^_^. Watch Pochama learn an ice type attack too.

Too be honest...well, I'm looking foward to Greggle the most in this episode! That grin in the preview RULES (I wonder how Team Rocket will react if they see Greggle with "da twoips?")
