Shinji appears for only a few frames, and the preview focuses on Pikachu vs Zugaidosu, which is next week's title. Odd. We want Murkrow, consarn it!

It seems like Shinji having the fire starter pretty much ensures we'll be seeing a lot of him this saga. If Shinji appears about as often as Brock used Mudkip back in Hoenn, it'll be about the same as if Shinji was on the group.

I'm glad the writers realized their mistake of giving Brock a starter last saga and gave it to a rival this time. We can bet Shinji's fire starter will be fully evolved by the end of Shinou, should be fun.

Maybe Ash battles the Gym leader first, ends up losing, then Shinji battles him and wins, and then Ash has a rematch in the next ep? That could be a way they do it.

Shinji is quite possibly the best rival character ever created, (he's almost beat out Harley as my favorite rival in Pokemon), so I'm glad we're seeing so much of him, and actually in Gyms no less. It took the writers a while, but we finally have the perfect Gary replacement.

Ooooooooh....hot. XD

I really hope he comes back when Tougan appears.

YEHAAAA!
First ever screen of Shinji inside a building!!111 uguvdkbefreingtr *spasm*
Hey, Hyouta dont look too bad. But Shinji's presence will definitely overshadow him for me.
I'd like big versions of all of Shinji's frames, if possible.
ZOMG I cannot get enough of Captain Shinji!!11

Hmm the episode looks cool, I'm guessing the episode will focouse on Shinji for the most part with Ash and Pikachu watching from the side. Than in the end it has Ash going agianst the guy with it continuing off into the next episode. I'm hoping for Ash winning over Shinji for once than it would make the rivalry more intense.

So Shinji captured an Azumarill, probably expecting that to give him an easy win over the rock types. It's a shame that we will be watching Geodude and Onix lose in this episode and the one next week. Those two will never get a break in the anime.

Those two will never get a break in the anime.

Haha, which is actually a shame, since they're the two most overused and constantly shown rock Pokemon in the entire series.

This makes it three Rock-type Gyms in a row where the Gym leader used a Geodude, and they were all the first Gym too. GameFreak lacks creativity it seems.

Shinji with an Azumarill seems off, especially since its such a cute Pokemon. I hope he releases it after he loses (?) the battle.

Two-out-of-three Starters are super effective against Rock types, unfortunately, and the third not-very. The game seems to be holding onto the vein that it's the best for beginners to practice on, whichever you aim for. And I hope they don't change that.

So Shinji does lose? Or is that the prediction of Shinji's mean-spirit-means-inferiority path in life?

Jeez, that Azumarril is not good appearntly as it seems Geodude takes it out, then elekid fights against all three of Hyota's pokemon and the it comes down to Hikozaru vs Zugadosu, and if anyone asks this is the preview at the japanese site, why did he even get that thing to begin with if it can't even take out a geodude.

So it's an Azumarril that will most likely be released. Nice to see another preview for this ep up too. I like how the one that went with the episode actually showed a fair bit of the battle at one time, not just bits of it. So he's using the Geodude and Onix too. I think that the part in the begining may have hinted at Hyouta being in the stampede ep, that is if it takes place underground and all.

The previews on the official site never work.....

Kurogane City looks awesome. And it looks like Ash may use Aipom and Naetle.

EDIT: Apparently, the preview after the actual episode is fro 16.

I think that both of the gym battles are 3 on 3 and Ash is using Pikachu, Neatoru, and Aipom. Yeah I think that the one after the episode was for 16 since it had none of the battle that the other preview had for Shinji.

It seems stupid for Ash's Mukkuru to evolve in the previous ep and then he doesn't bother using him against the Gym leader.

What was the point of rushing its evo before the first Gym if it won't even play a big role in it?

Dunno. Hopefully it plays a big part in the Grass Gym.

Where is Murkrow, darnit!

I'm guessing Aipom's contest will pay off somehow.

Atleast Naetle gets too battle. Poor guy, being overshadowed by Aipom and Mukkkuru.

I'm kinda glad too see Onix. It hasn't got a real fight in awhile. Hopefully it doesn't get hurt by "sprinklers".

We saw a really sweet Grovyle Vs. Onix battle in that early Battle Frontier filler. It wasn't that long ago since Onix was in the spotlight.

Ah yeah, forgot about that.

Anyone have pics of the Preview on the website? It never works for me....

A flying type would be weak against rock types.

But of course Aipom and Pikachu are good choices. :p

Still, why would the writers place a Mukkuru evo ep before the first Gym and not even bother to have it participate in it? Usually when one of Ash's Pokemon evolve, it's in the very next Gym battle to showcase its new strength.

It really seems stupid to build up hype with Mukkubird and then totally forget about it when the Gym comes along. Lame.
