Japanese: サトシとヒカリ!タッグバトルで大丈夫!?
[bp=DP029]Bulbapedia article[/bp]

This episode will air April 12, 2007 on TV Tokyo along with DP028.

This episode should rock if its anything like the Ash/May tag battle. :D

Another shipping/hint episode? Who knows? But Hikari seems have more syncronism with Ash's style than May...

I do notice that Ash and Dawn do train/battle together a lot more than he did with the previous girls.

I'm hoping for either Pikachu/Pachirisu or a Naetle/Pochama double battle on their side. Would be interesting to see the two electric types together though.

On topic: I'm actually hoping for Buneary/Pikachu. :P

If that DOES happen, I want to see Buneary tackle Pikachu and kiss him to no end. Just have her let it all out in battle. That'd be hilarious to watch. It may result in a "The Bicker The Better" rehash, but seeing that occur is worth it, don't you think? =P

I'd love that. Of course Buneary wearing Dawn's cheerleading outfit, (it does it in the Contest ep previously) and kissing Pikachu would pretty much confirm its gender...but of course we know we can't have that!

I think it was pretty much confirmed that Pikachu is male and Buneary female from those screenshots in the contest episode, though. :p

*Waits for SOMEBODY to just waltz up in the topic and find someway to say that Pikachu is female and Buneary's probably gay.*

^ Pikachu IS female (in my opinion anyway). XD

Of course, I haven't seen any of the D/P episodes yet, so I'm not going to judge what Buneary's gender is......

But from what I've heard, Buneary is a very feminine Pokemon.

Even so, that Buneary could be male for all we know (well a very "girly" male, but still, it's possible). XD

Of course not.

The writers would never reveal Pikachu's gender, and most of us know that by now.

Everyone also knows that the writers like to keep Pikachu's gender neutral, so that way, it can be up to the fan's imagination to choose Pikachu's gender. This way, everyone is happy. :-)

Anyway though, realistically speaking, I think this would happen.

If they did reveal Pikachu's gender, then the characters in the anime would have to refer to Pikachu using that paricular pronoun. Also, in that episode and any episode afterwards, they would have to continue using that pronoun when referring to Pikachu. And until this happens in the anime, no one will know the true gender of Ash's Pikachu.

And that's the truth about Pikachu's gender. You're free to quote that, if you want. ^^

Of course, until the above happens, I will continue believing Pikachu is a female because that's just my opinion (and there's no possible way you could change my beliefs, so don't even try). XD

Personally, if you want my opinion, I hope they will never reveal Pikachu's gender. I like the way the writers have it currently with Pikachu's gender, and how it's referred to as an "it". I love that about the anime!! It's neutral as to whether Pikachu is male or female. And to be honest, I think that was such a creative and interesting thing for the writers to do.

Sure, it doesn't work very well as far as shipping goes. But actually, depending on your view of Pikachu, you can make it work out anyway you want. That's the best thing about neutrality and the genders of Pokemon. ^_^

You know, The Realist could easily find a way to change your beliefs on Pikachu's gender, but he won't, because he RESPECTS your beliefs. Good Job, keep it up. ;D

Saw the Preview. From the looks of it, It'll be a Turtwig/Piplup battle. That's all I can gather from that.

Only in the dub. In Japanese, it's quite possible to go on indefinitely without once using a gender-specific pronoun.

Oh, I see.

That's interesting, Murgatroyd.

I didn't know that about the Japanese version. Thanks for pointing that out. ^^

I hope Quilava's partner is Croconaw...when was the last time we saw that?

Ranger Mason had one in Mother of All Battles. I can't recall it making an appearance in AG.

It appeared in the Hoenn League iirc. Alongside a Charizard.

That was Quilava, they're talking about Croconaw. :p

It's a real shame that the Johto starters of Ash's never evolved, some Pokemon got barely any screentime.
