[bp=DP034]Bulbapedia article[/bp]

Satoshi-tachi hear about a strong Buoysel and aim to catch him, but (spoilers!) we already know Hikari's getting him. Nozomi is set to appear.

I call Buoysel a "him" because he has two spots on his back, while female Buoysels only have one.

Pikachu is getting his butt kicked pretty badly by Buizel in the preview, and nozomi is no where to be seen in it.

Ash battling Buizel is interesting, and will add more fuel to the fire for the people who were angry that Dawn is getting it instead of him.

Pikachu is losing to another wild Pokemon, which will eventually be under the command of Dawn. Who wants to bet that Buizel will be weaker in battle once Dawn gets it? The writers tend to make strong wild Pokemon into only average fighters once a main character gets it.

Dawn should try to use Pachirisu to capture Buizel. She has an electric Pokemon but I don't think she realizes how to use it to her advantage just yet.

Anyone also think that once Dawn gets Buizel, that Piplup will either have to get stronger or evolve down the road? I don't see Dawn getting two fully evolved water Pokemon, so I wonder if Buizel will stay in its base stage for its entire run.

Darnit!

The fanbase already is saying Dawn "steals" Buizel...0.o

Buizel better stay the same. If they evolve Buizel, I swear, I WILL LITTERALLY KILL THE WRITERS! Besides, who can imagine Dawn with something as ugly as Floatzel? I sure can't. Yuck.

I think it depends on how it's caught in the end. That will set the tone for it's status.

Well then i'm glad Ash isn't getting it then, i never want to see him with another unevolved water pokemon.

Though it has to be asked, given how "well" Buizel's doing against Pikachu and proving to be a strong pokemon, will Dawn really need to get anything else in sinnoh for her team?

Maybe this is all the writers plan to give her for Sinnoh. May only had a team of 4 for both GF's (Combusken, Beautifly, Skitty and Bulbasaur for the Hoenn GF, and Combusken, Munchlax, Squirtle and Eevee for the Kanto GF), so it may be the same for her.

There's really no reason coordinators need a full team, hell, even all the previous coordinator rivals never had a full team of 6. Since the Grand Festival's are so short, the writers probably like a small group of Pokemon for the mix.

Buoysel looks badass in the preview ala Grovyle-style. I hope it will keep that pesonality. The one in the-world-of-pokemon clip of the 10th movie looks more friendly.
Ash battle against Buoysel animation-wise looks promising. I'm looking forward to that battle.

I hope Buizel does evolve personally. Dawn with a Floatzel would be awesome.

I wish Ash would use Turtwig though, then if he lost it wouldn't be a big deal.

RPG cliche [HASHTAG]#140[/HASHTAG]: Law of NPC Relativity (Magus Rule)
Characters can accomplish superhuman physical feats, defeat enemies with one hand tied behind their back and use incredible abilities -- until they join your party and you can control them. Then these wonderful powers all vanish, along with most of their hit points.

Personally, I'm glad that Ash isn't getting Buizel. Buizel would do better in contests than in actual battles. But that's just my opinion. Also, I don't think it's necessary for Buizel to evolve, as May has shown us plenty of times that basic stage Pokemon can pull off a victory on their own.

Is this because we've seen Buizel's in contests already? Considering this Buizel is kicking Pikachu's butt, and the method in which it does it, does make it seem to be more of a "combat" type pokemon.

Except May's base stage pokemon were dues ex when they did win thier battles.

This Buizel sure as heck won't be though.

Don't forget that there's always the possibility of a Buizel-Aipom trade down the road. The fact that Nozomi has already brought that up says a lot.

Anyway, since there seems to be some fishing I hope we see the Misty lure.

I'm just calling it like i see it, that thing just screams "Battle" in the preview, and while that oesn't make it wrong for Dawn to get it, it does make the Ash fans who wanted him to get it's anger justified in thier actions, heck the fact it practically screams Treecko from it's attitude only adds fuel to thier fire.

But your joking about the trade thing right? As i recall in the unofficial contest it was established Ash has a rather strong bond with Aipom. Even Dawn recognized it, not to mention they did drop the subject on trading aipom earlier on rather suddenly as well. Ash doesn't trade his pokemon away anyway if Butterfree is anything to go on. Sides a trade just makes Dawn a bad coordinator since she would be using a pokemon she didn't raise herself, so in a way it's bad on both sides.
