Japanese: 四天王ゴヨウとドータクン!
[bp=DP035]Bulbapedia article[/bp]

This episode will air on TV Tokyo on May 24, 2007.

Dawn is using Buizel to battle an Elite 4 member, wow. This girl has guts, she's even trying to take on the most powerful trainers in the world.

Of course Dawn will probably get her ass handed to her, (and Ash probably too) but that's besides the point. :D

Looks to be your typical Elite episode though, where Ash (and Dawn) lose and learn a lesson about how there are stronger trainers than them out there. I'm just glad Dawn is so battle oriented, its a refreshing change of pace than seeing Ash do everything.

Luster Cannon coming out of Bronzong's ass is freaky, yet cool.

Speaking of Bronzong, he looks awesome in this.

Bronzong's eyes are creepy....they bulge. o_O

Lucian looks great! But too bad it seems there's no Paul, seeing him get crushed would be worth the price of admission. Still, this one is worth looking forward to.

Why do I get the feeling that it wasn't Dawn's idea to challenge Lucian? At least, that's the impression I get from the preview and what I'm hoping they go with--having Buizel prove to be a battle-obsessed handful for Dawn would be terribly amusing.

And where did Lucian get his tan? o_O

Yeah, his hair seems rather light and his skin definitely a bit too dark.

In the meantime, guess which fangirl had too much time on her hands? :B

Obsessive? NO WAI. Just imagine what I'll be able to do when the full ep is out, mufufufu.

What the... he does look off. And kinda spacey. Or that's just an act so Dawn won't know what's coming.

It seems random to have an elite in an episode already. Can I still hold out hope that Flint will show up when the twerps arrive at Sunyshore?

Morty is a total stoner. So is Ivy.

Morty's Pokemon are made up of purple fog, he's got a mullet and drooping eyes. What more proof do you need?

Hah, if you're going that route, I might as well point out that Bronzong is just four letters off from "bong". ;P

Droopy-eyed stoners FTW. Now all we need is to hear Goyou's seiyuu and find out if he sounds stoned. >>

I saw people talking about his seiyruu on Pokeani, anyone with japanese knowledge should check and see if they know who does him.

Bronzong is a ledgend due to his Ass-Cannon.

He was Lucario's seiyuu.

I... I am jumping to conclusions based on that, even though I know I shouldn't judge how a seiyuu/VA would sound as one character based on how they sounded as a totally different character. My brain is playing a little clip of Goyou with the Lucario voice over and over again. This is painful, and I'm not sure if that's in a good way or not. Because I liked Lucario's voice, but I honestly don't know if I like it or anything vaguely resembling it as Goyou's voice. And again I know I shouldn't assume Goyou will sound anything like Lucario just because they have the same seiyuu. BUT MY BRAIN DOES IT ANYWAI.

I just realized something....

Why would the writers have Dawn battle against Lucian? O.O

That doesn't make any sense to me.

I mean, throughout the anime, the only person who has battled against Elite Four members in the past is Ash. And also, Dawn is supposed to be a *beginning trainer*. So how could she even stand a chance against an Elite Four member in the first place?

Seriously, I can't understand why the writers are doing this. They never did it before with Misty or May, so I'm confused about why they're having Dawn battle Lucian now (and for that matter, having someone other than Ash battle an Elite Four member? That's something completely new!!). O_O

Anyway, I'm not sure why, but all of a sudden I'm really worried about Ash. The only way I think the writers can fix this problem is, for them to have Ash *beat* Lucian.

Yes, I know that's not very likely to happen. But come on, they can't let Dawn and Ash battle Lucian, just to make both of them lose afterwards! I just don't understand why they'd do something like that!

In my opinion, it would only make sense if Dawn lost to Lucian, and Ash won.

But then again, this is the writers we're talking about, so I guess they've done many things before that didn't make much sense......

Probably because Dawn is the most battle-oriented female we ever had on the cast.

Misty never really battled all that much, (holding Togepi instead was a 24/7 job), and most of May's battling had to do with her own story arc or in fillers that were about her.

Dawn however is a girl who is a lot like Ash, she's stubborn, impulsive and she loves to battle. Not to mention Buizel loves to battle as well, so you have Dawn challenging an Elite 4 member as a given.

I would expect a lot of this in future episodes and all throughout the D/P series. The writers must think fans like girls having more spotlight in the series, which is why each girl has had a much larger part in the series than the last. The writers must want to open the show up to girls more by giving them equal screentime to Ash I guess.
