Review DP044: Save the Lost Hippopotas!

The group finds a Hippopotas on top of a high cliff and help it to come down. But suddenly a the Sinnoh Now team appear, telling them that they are filming for a documentary on Hippopotas' behavior, and that they were observing the stray Hippopotas.

This episode will air August 23, 2007 on TV Tokyo.
 
Guess will have to wait and see whether Ash will catch it or not. Would be different for sure.
 
I don't care if the plot is pure shit, this is the best episode ever, as it is focused on the Hippo. ^^ The only way to top this episode would be to have TWO HIPPOS. :p Which it almost certainly will, seeing as it's a child, and we'll get the inevitable Reunited-With-Parents scene.
 
Hopefully the Parents let it go with Ash.

I mean, Norman and Caroline let their two kids travel with a ten-year old boy which they had just met and attracted criminals...so...

Good point, and if they knew what kind of people they would meet, Tucker and Harley, they deffinitely wouldn't let them go.
 
Yes, because never mind the maniacal Team Aqua and Magma, those flamboyant feminine men are much more dangerous!

I really want Ash to catch the hippo - and there is a fair bit to suggest he could - but somehow I don't think he will. :/

It'd also be pretty early to be putting together a full team really - he's already most of the way there and has been since the first batch of episodes.
 
Honestly, I'd be lost if Ash doesn't catch Hippopotas, because there wouldn't be many viable options left for him.
 
It would be odd if Ash DID catch the little hippo. It uses Yawn as a signature attack, which would require Ash to actually adapt a new battle strategy to make the most of it. Every time he has been forced to rethink his battle strategy resulted in him doing almost the exact same thing he has always stuck to - an all-out offense.
 
I would maybe let Ash off of the hook this season if he catches this pokemon it rox. And yes Magma and Aqua can't do crap but what about those crazy HarleyXMax shippers, his parents are so proud.
(Note: Harley is my fav coordinater, excluding May, and Tucker is the coolest brain. I have nothing against them, obviously.)

All signs point to NO.

However, Shieldon looks pretty cute...so...on to hoping he'll get caught.
 
By one of the pics we got, it seems they'll be showing us the gender difference between Hippopotas! x)

And... Even though Ash may not catch the hippo, the episode still looks pretty cool to me. Can't wait to watch it! ;)

Apparently not. Although it seems nobody's 100% confirmed it yet. xD

But anyway, this is the best ep of DP so far. Hippo, woo. :p Also, isn't Gary in the next episode as well as J? Shieldon could easily end up belonging to any of the group. Even Brock. :O Although almost certainly not Dawn. ^^;
