Review DP052: Tag Battle! Final!!

Well...it's been 56 weeks since DP started and we're just now getting to DP 052.

ANYWAY...the preview shows Satoshi's Mukubird face off against Takeshi's Gureggru. We also see Honoka with a Kamonegi. Apparently, Takeshi + Honoka lose because we then see Satoshi + Shinji face off against Hikari + Kouhei. Hikari's using her Buoysel while Kouhei uses Heracross.

I don't remember if they show which pokemon Shinji uses...

No mention of Hikozaru is made during the preview.

Would be funny if Dawn and Otaku beat Ash/Paul. The fandom would explode.

I guess this is the only time Dawn will use Buizel in a tournament if that trade coming up happens. At least she used it once in an official competition.
 
We had Researcher and Elite Trainer in DP50
We had Karate King and Esper in DP51.

Are we going to have some "trainer classes" in this episode, too? I hope so. I loved those references.

I don't see why it's not reasonable, Ash and Paul can't get along at all, and sides Dawn's got alot backing her for the win. She needs to be redeemed after the failed contest, and she is also the only one who can make use of the prize, and get her Buneary to Lopunny with the soothe bell as it helps happiness induced evolution.

Though if Paul used his Torterra and Kouhei's Heracross beat it(which would be tough to do), i wonder how many would complain about the unfairness to Ash's not beating Venusaur...
 
Anyone else find it odd that we see Heracross so much with random characters yet Ash's Heracross never gets any screentime?

Though it's a given that it will so I don't see why people should be suprised. There is another thing though, they could have the chimchar thing go down at the start of the episode, and then have Ash catch it and put it on hold till the following episode so they can put more focus on the tournament.
 
It's gonna be on hold anyway. Ash'll want to work with Chimchar first before he uses it in an important battle.
 
Yeah, it's pretty much given that through Sotoshi stressing Shinji not to use it consistently that he won't do just that :p

Dunno about that, he did seem to have pretty good control of it when Paul "abandoned" the battle, so it wouldn't take long for him to really put it to good use.

Though i'm certain that by and after the tears episode he should have full control over it and uses it to the best of it's abilities, but wether or not it'll be socialble with the other pokemon will be up the air.
 
Don't forget the need to give Chimchar time to rest and heal, which Paul refused to do.

I know which is probably why it won't be seen much in the next episode, speaking of which i'm guessing Ash might go out with Aipom in the final battle as he has used his other three once equally.

It'll be intresting to see who wins, Dawn does have the edge with the prize but you never know, Ash and Paul could pull it off.
 
Maybe Chimchar's in the medical room while Paul and Ash finish the tourney?
