Airs January 8 at 19:00 JST on TV Tokyo which will be the first airing for 2009.

Uh...dude, that Nidoran is a male. The blue ones are female. Regardless, it's about time Nidoran got more air time. I love those little guys!

Amazing! I'm really happy to see such neglected Pokémon again like these Nidoran (male, not female as you wrote), Whismur, Venonat and even Swampert was kinda neglected compared to Sceptile/Blaziken so it's nice to see it again as well

Swampert was never neglected. It got "Abandon Ship" in Dewford Island which was an entire episode about it, Morrison used one in the Hoenn league, and Tucker had one in Battle Frontier.

Blaziken actually never appeared in any AG episodes until the second to last episode.

Sceptile was Ash's Pokémon for a good amount of episodes
Blaziken was in movie 7, in the Johto League, in May's last two episodes and another one when she return...
Maybe neglected isn't the word but I think another appearance can't hurt...

That Swampert reminds me of the same one as in "Abandoned Ship". Otherwise this episode looks Hoenn-esque.

^ Yeah, I agree, it does seem like a Hoenn filler. Probably because there are quite a few 3rd generation Pokemon shown. I thought Laglarge was Lapras' Japanese name at first. I was trying to look for a Lapras in the preview but then I figured out it was Swampert's. Dx

A couple of cameos here and there (with it's female counterpart). Otherwise, no.

I find it amusing that theres so many threads involving Sinnoh having no real fillers, and then this slaps us in the face.

It looks fine to me. It's actually Natsume who animates this, who is one of the better animators...

In any case, there's a 2 week wait-time for this episode, right?

Actually I think the animation is pretty cool and amazing even in the preview. lots of motion that looks funny and fluent, little details that other AD would ignore and wacky faces. Why does everybody criticize this AD so much when it is one of the better ones considering the animation. The style is pretty unique as well, so that is opinion based, but the animation quality is for sure not bad.
