DP127: Snowpoint Gym! Ice Battle!!

The battle is, according to the source and slowkingsley from sppf, a 4 vs 4 battle. Seems like the preview from DP120 didn't show everything...

The one missing in action from DP120 and who will also participate is Gliscor. Therefore the new team is Gliscor, Chimchar, Grotle and Staraptor.

Like I said over there, Ash's got balls for using Gliscor in an Ice-type Gym. Either that or sheer stupidity, maybe both since it's not as easy to tell these days... but aw hell, I applaud the choices nonetheless. 4 on 4, 3 with type disadvantages and the only one with the advantage having a relatively high chance of going, um... for lack of a better word, apeshit in this fight? This'll probably be fun.

And now I play the waiting game for May the 21st.

You stole my words abut how this gym battle will be. I mean I will now give a break down on how each pokemon will fair against her.
Grotle- Defense it is all about the defense. He will take major hits but make it through to the end.
Gliscor- Oh boy she is a real fickle one. I bet she will fly around a lot and be dodging. Then at the right moment like a true bat swoop out of nowhere and fire fang whoever it goes against.
Staraptor- Hur Hur this one is the Ash got balls imo not Gliscor. I mean all it can be useful for is close combating with Medicham. Otherwise its going to be one hell of a strugle.
Chimchar-As you said he very likely to go apeshit and all. Hopefully he goes apeshit controls his powers and wins the gym. Later on in another episode he evolves.

Actually, Close Combat for Sneasel, Brave Bird for Medicham and Abomasnow. Medicham's part Psychic, so the damage would be neutral.

Hmm... I wonder which would be Candice's fourth Pokémon... I just wish it is a Froslass. :) Or if the anime mimics DP team.. maybe a... Snover. >.<
 
Does Ash still have a brain?

I know pikachu and buizel have been used in way to many gym battles but serously all of his pokemon he's using except for chimchar obivily but if Gliscor gets hit by one ice attack he's dead chesh are you sure you didn't read it wrong
 
So what if he has no brains? IF he can pull of a nice strategy and completely own her team I see no problem in him using this team. Its not always about the type advantages you know. Jeez!
 
True. Meh, despite my preference for Ice-types and encountering Fire-types, I still manage to do some nice strategies and win.
 
Hey, it's the lop-sided odds that make this really amusing in the first place to me! Aaaaand Ash has proven to pull some wicked strategies out of his butt even through type disadvantages before. It'll be fun to see if he can do it with three, including a pleasant little 4x weakness and a possibly-unstable Pokemon in his biggest advantage.

The suspense, man...! Awesome stuff.

Like Fantina and the breakdancing element shields. I swear how did he go through a whole battle doing just that.
 
I didn't saw him yet to prepare for his Ice gym battle. So true, he might use again his tricks against Fantina.
 
Nah this gym will be a new strategy of mixed defense and offense. Also I said that in hate and how he pulled it out of nowhere thinking it was a good idea. It was pure luck I say.

That's what he said in his battle against Falkner when sent out chicorita and it ended not even getting a chance to attack

How did he pull it out of nowhere? He was pondering a strategy for god knows how many episodes, and the Counter Shield itself was inspired by that mid-air spin thing both him and Hikari have been pulling off since the first gym, as well as Ambipom's performance in the contest prior :/
 
:D. More Gym action for Glion is a big yes in my book. I'm sure the Gym can be balanced out so that each of the four can get a KO. But, if someone has to get the short end of the stick,(which seems to happen in most gym battles nowadays) it can be Chimchar. I like the little guy but the other 3 need more wins and he did get 4 KO's in the last 2 gyms.
 
Really, I would have expected Pikachu, but Satoshi using Glion despite its 4x weakness to ice means that he is relying on Fire Fang.

X-scissor is strong against Sneasel and Abomasnow, and steel wing is super effective on everyone excluding medicham.

Gliscor is being used for more than just fire fang.

Satoshi DOES have balls for sending out Mukkuhawk, Glion, and Hayashigame...

But this is a complete DEM set up. Which is what I hope it doesn't turn out to be, since his team is a lot stronger than that...
 
About damn time. I'm really glad this will be a 4 vs. 4 battle and I also approve of the lineup. I don't care how DEM it sounds, I just like the variety.
