8/13 DP138: Hikari vs Mom! Between Parent and Child!

I was expecting this seeing as she is a top co-ordinator. I just wonder though.

Anyway, I really didn't expect Dawn to fight her mother so soon. Could be one heck of a battle, that's for sure.

That's because I'm awesome! Seriously though neither did I. I doubt they would make it the final though as it should be a 2 parter but we'll see.

Sounds random. I really doubt that it'll be an actual Contest Battle between Dawn and Johanna. Just some episode centered about them... But who knows.

However, I hope this IS the final Ribbon. So we may get to Sunyshore without any further ado and see Volkner and Flint (and less possibly Julia [the ribbon girl] and Jasmine).

Oh my God, they're giving Dawn development that is remembered...and they're using her mother's coordinator background. So Johanna isn't wasted potential?

I'm looking forward to this one. Guess that Glameow's not Zoey's, but Johanna's. Don't think it'll be an official contest, but I do wonder what this means.

I doubt it'll be an official contest, seeing how all the contest episodes always have the word "contest". xD

Maybe Ayako comes to visit Hikari and "tests out her skill"? Whatever it is, this should be very interesting.

Oh, I completely forgot Johanna (Ayako) had a Glameow (Nyamur).
This should be an interesting episode. I hope it isn't an official contest, because it would kinda suck if Dawn was able to defeat a Ribbon Cup winner.

wow, that's really random!

so much for Musashi getting her 3rd ribbon, unless Hikari loses to her mom or it's an unoffical contest.... and maybe the Xatu belongs to Hikari's mother, just a thought

This certainly looks like an interesting episode.

I wonder what the pretense is? I doubt Dawn is getting cocky, what with a certain losing streak haunting her.

It's probably an exhibition contest. It'd be like a mother crushing her child's dreams.

I also doubt this will be official Contest. But even if it will, I doubt Dawn will get her last Ribbon so soon. They most likely will do with her last Ribbon what they did with May, let her get it in last Contest before Grand Festival, most likely after Ash will get his last Badge.

I doubt Hikari can win against her mother this early. So it's probably something unofficial.

Dawn sorta battled against her mother in that Mismagius dream episode.

Remember Johanna used a Feebas/Milotic against Piplup?

Now this is the kind of episode you guys probably thought would happen when it was revealed Hikari's mom was a Top Coordinator. Can't wait to see it. :-D

I'm surprised so many people think it's an official Contest.

They'll probably have the contest scoreboard and a contest judge there, but yeah its probably just a practice battle.

I see this as the writers way to delay her 5th ribbon win, since this will count as a contest episode between the 7th and 8th Gym, and then after Sunyshore will be the real final contest.

Also, the Mismagius ep made it very clear that Ash and Dawn have to beat Cynthia and Johanna to achieve their goal... that's the reason I believe both Ash and Dawn will lose to their "idols"... it's too early for both of them to beat their "idols"... especially for Dawn

Now you'll tell me "but Johanna doesn't need a new ribbon, she doesn't plan to enter the GF"... so what? Lila didn't intend to enter the GF either and she chose to paticipate in one Contest only just because she wanted to

Though Johanna clearly cares for Dawn and is strict for Dawn's sake... maybe she'll enter this Contest not to "crush Dawn" but to help teach Dawn how a real Top Coordinator should act...

This is going to be interesting. Explains the Glameow. This is going to be exciting to see with all the different interactions that could go on. Most likely this is not an official contest and probably is like a practice contest for Dawn to take part with her mother. But who knows? If it is official, it's certainly not the last contest.

And I also think this is the first time Brock and Ash meet Dawn's mom in person right?
