I assume this must be practice for the double performance in Asatsuki? This seems like a good episode if I did not feel that Mamoswine had been milked out for all its worth.
 
Couldn't this actually be the next Contest? Or am I missing something?
 
If it was a contest it would be "Pokemon Contest! (Whatever the name of the town is) Convention!"

It's a shame we can't see the bunny and squirrel do a double battle.
 
Both Mamo and Cynda? Hmmm...I'll have to see what comes of this.
 
This episode should be called, "Dawn's newest two Pokemon get to do something."

It does sound like it could actually be the Contest ep though.

Basically, what Musashi said here. I don't think it's an actual contest, just practice. Plus, we had a contest just a few episodes ago. Remember a lot of people thought Hikari vs. Ayako battle was an official contest? It ended up being just a regular ol'e battle and all of the contest episodes have "X Convention" in it.

If it's a 2-part Contest, the second part would be Pokémon Contest! Asatsuki Convention!!

I don't know anything, I'm just saying.
 
DP157 is that Pokethlon episode, so DP155 and DP156 could be the Contest episode.

Also, didn't they say the Contest would come before Sunyshore? I can't see the writers delaying Sunyshore too much longer, (its already been like 25 episodes since Snowpoint!), so the Contest being now would make sense.

While the name may be put into question, everything about it is true. There is a Town "Asatsuki" and it will have a contest that will have a double performance. This was confirmed within the red chain episode with Jupiter. That is without doubt, true.

Anything involving it's participates, or the exact episode number, that is speculative.

The only other detail that might be true without doubt is that it'll take place before Sunyshore City. But who knows maybe Ash and Group decide to go to Sunyshore City first due to some events, like Palkia "teleports" them closer to Sunyshore City than to the Contest Town with the double performance.
 
You know, this makes me wonder, if this title is in fact true, and the pokethlon episode(supposedly dp 157) is the last one for the year, then if Dp 156's title doesn't involve Gible, i'm guessing that'll mean Ash getting it was false after all.
 
THe correct numbering for the Pokethlon is 159. 157 is by the producers. We still have 3 episodes and I doubt the 3 episodes will have Sunnyshore.
 
You know, it could be the Hot Spring Contest, because Hot springs is Hot water (Cyndaquil=Fire) that cools you down (Mamoswine=Ice) *shot*
 
It's probably Dawn practicing for the grand festival after she failed in the last double appeal.

That's with the numbering system the writers are using (axing the Riolu episodes), so it should be 159 since we aren't axing the Riolu episodes.

Asatsuki Town is confirmed.

Did I not just say that it was PRACTICE? Anyways, Musashi is correct; all of the contest episodes, even those with two parts, have a "Pokemon Contest! ______ Convention." title.

I feel that Dawn is planning on using Piplup/Pachi, then Mamo/Cynda in this contest.

Err, that wasn't directed to you, but to other people who thought this was a contest episode. Which is why I didn't quote the rest of your post.

I think she will be battling a person that isn't a COTD since this is a Rractice! Contest episode and two COTD battles in a row is kinda redundant.

So the Riolu episodes don't have a proper episode number? What?
