- The matchups shift determining who is battling.

- Jun commands an attack.

- Shinji has his usual expression.

- Satoshi and Jun are apparently very excited.

- They bust out of a door energetically, running.

- Shinji VS Jun.

- Jun commands Empertu to use Drill Peck.

- Shinji commands Ringuma to use Focus Blast.

- Empertu deflects it with Steel Wing.

- Ringuma is hit by its own attack, Focus Blast, after Empertu reflects it.

- Shinji is in shock.

- Shinji's Elekible uses Thunderbolt.

- Airmd spins around using Spike Cannon. It surrounds Elekible.

- Booburn uses Fire Blast.

- Empertu is hit by Rock Tomb.

- Sawamular uses Jump Kick.

- Shinji commands Ringuma to use Revenge.

- Jun commands Empertu to use Aqua Jet.

Wow the battle is gonna end up being really explosive judging by what we saw in the preview. I bet this is gonna be the best 3 vs. 3 battle of the league because rival vs. rival battles seem to be really good in DP. Barry seems to be giving Paul a run for his money hopefully he gains Paul's respect with this battle.

My point is this. How can Empoleon give Paul a good battle, when it was 1HKO by Meowth of Team Rocket? Once that happens, you lose all credibility.

Also, we all know Barry is going to lose, but hopefully he loses gracefully, not easily.

Beating Torrent will give Shinji the smugness to believe that he can beat Blaze.

Also this cannot be said enough: no Gallop is bull.

I don't know, I have a feeling Paul will swoop the floop with Barry.
Its there first battle after all and even Ash is still having trouble with him, who he's been battling since the first episode.

Barry will go out looking fairly strong, he won't get swept by any means. The trailer clearly shows that as well. Barry's Empoleon is pretty strong too.

I'm glad we finally see Torrent too. Blaze has been shoved down our throat this saga and we saw Overgrow back in AG.

Here's hoping this battle between rivals can at least be half as good as the rival battle we got in the GF 8D

Unless Paul substitutes his pokemon like he did against Ash... and since Ash/Barry have a similar fighting style...

Though I agree it won't be 3-0 for Paul, I could see it be a close 3-1 for Paul... Plus, I don't think we'll see Paul struggle with Barry more than Ash will struggle against Conway.

Uh, Empoleon has been trolled so many times, you can't respect it at all. I mean, being beaten by pikachu at least twice isn't so bad, since pikachu does have a type advantage, and pikachu is known to be strong. But being beaten by team-rockets meowth, well... that takes away all credibility.

Why do people want to see a Rapidash? I'm getting sick of them Flaming Unicorns! They are like Steelix and Electivire....always appearing.

Huh? Rapidash hardly ever appears and to top that considering it being a Generation 1 pokemon, we have never seen one in an actual battle.

Steelix I'm sick of but Electivire has only appeared four times and that's counting a movie cameo

Hitmonlee and Skarmory seem like pretty random choices for the writers to come up with.

Not really liking this ep so far.

I feel like this ep takes away screentime from Ash's Pokemon (which it does, obviously). I also wish Ash Vs. Barry was a full 6 on 6, which is obviously not happening.

The Paul/Barry thing was so barely focused on anyway, why even bother? Didn't they interact in only 1 episode before this?

Writers artificially made Jun stronger. Jun in fact doesn't have pokemons which can be really match to Shinji's monsters. In fact Shinji could easily knock out all of Jun's pokemon. But writers suddenly powered up Jun's pokemons to increase tensity in this match. I don't think it is fair. After I saw a full battle between Satoshi and Shinji and after I saw Jun's battles I could say that Jun doesn't have his own style.He just copying Sinji's style. And copy never can beat original. Because it is fake.

I will laugh my butt off if what happens is Jun's Skarmory and Hitmonlee go down easily, then Empoleon comes out and beats two of Paul's pokemon before losing to the third.

Because it'll prove he focused too much on that stupid penguin, which is why he FAILS.

I can slightly agree that no rapidash is disapointing, but putting Barry against Paul is way better than having to sit and watch Ash beat him for the upteenth time.
