DP186-Ash vs. Paul

Lol, you beat me in a minute. Fair enough. :p

So Ash and Paul are seemigly battling in quater-finals? I guess that confirms a Top 4 spot for Ash. This battle better be a 6 v 6.

Huh. Everyone thought this match would be in the semi finals or the final! Oh well. Guess the LT will be in the semis.. and Ash won't reach the final.

edit: Unless we get a stillscreen of Ash vs. Random COTD

We technically can't really say if it's in the quaters or semi's, until we get a proper summary. But for now it seems like it's going to be in the Top 8, unless they skip the 4th round towards the end of DP 185, or beginnig of 186.

I hope they don't try to fit the whole 6-on-6 battle into one episode. That would be a little rushed.

The Top 32 battles are either going to be skipped or skimmed over in DP184, so nothing can be ruled out at this point. It doesn't really matter, anyway, but I would think that Ash would place second as Dawn did.

Ash will pretty much end in top two after losing against the legendary trainer in the finals, just like I expected. I only hope this battle is a two-parter, if not, it would end up horribly rushed.

Lame. Ash will win only one full battle in Sinnoh? Even in Hoenn he won 2.

The league does seem to be going rather quickly. Mind, we dont yet know if this is Top 16 or Top 8, nor do we know whether LT battle will be right after it (very likely though.)
Oh well, I guess its the quality of the battles that matters more than the quantity, and this will probably provide in quality.

Considering the first round was Top 64, the second round is skipped ( Top 32), and As/Conway is 3rd Round (Top 16)...this battle is either in the Top 8, or Top 4.

Yeah, this doesn't tell us which round this is. Still, it's the answer to one of my questions: which battle is going to happen first. We'll have to wait until some other time to find out what round this is, though.

Will people accept that Satoshi isn't losing now?

Oops, sorry! Its what I meant to say, got confused! :p

No need to apologize. My biggest concern is that this battle might turn into one big OHKO fest if it's only taking place in one episode.

Don't be so quick to dismiss it. In previous leagues, we usually did have two different titles for two parts of the same battle.

I think the episode will probably continue on till the next episode, even if just to finish it. And a whole episode for one battle isn't too bad if the whole episode is dedicated to it, some of the previous battles that have gone on into the next episode only really took up about half of the first episode and half of the second. (With the beginning of the first episode being interactions etc.)

I wouldn’t worry just yet about its size. I don’t think the writers would screw around and rush a battle such as this one that is so important to the entire diamond and pearl saga. I expect it to be a good one to say the least and that its conclusion will stretch into the next episode.

I hope this match will be a two-parter. Paul is one of Ash's biggest Rivals in Sinnoh, so I see no reason to make this a two-parter. Even their battle near Lake Acquity was a two-parter (and there was different names for each)

Guess we will just have to wait and see if this is the Semi-Finals match or not. By the way, was this Episode Title confirmed?

Damn, they're going into this already? I don't remember how the Johto or Houen leagues went, but for all the build up this one has had and all the old pokemon that are supposed to be used, this feels like it's all gone by a bit too quickly. We'll have only seen 2 battles from Ash. So are the remaining episodes going to be one-off trainers up until the mysterious Darkrai trainer I wonder, or are we in for some tedious post-league tie-up episodes?
