Within the mountains there is a special valley, on hidden away from the world. This valley is one of the many spread out villages inhabited by Dragonkin, a subspecies of Demons that live along with humans in this world.

Jared Drac, the son and next in line to take over the Drac clan that rules over the valley stood at the entrance of his family's complex, composed of a large cleanly white mansion that stood over the mountain which was in turn surrounded by asian styled buildings and halls.

"The day's here I gues," Jared sighed nervously ohimself, brushing his hand past his short brown hair as his clear brown eyes stared at the complex in front of him.

Alice looked at the mansion with awe. She had been there once before. It was with Jared, and things wouldn't be any different. They had met when they were Freshman at Nebula Academy, and ended up falling for each other. Through the good and the bad, the two remained. She remembered what Elise had said the first time the teacher spoke to her about Jared. However, even back then, she knew she wouldn't leave his side. If God had a perfect person for everyone, she had found it in Jared. While it would probably seem odd to most humans that a dragonkin and a half-angel were together, but it didn't matter. She was on this journey with him until she took her last breath.

During her time at Nebula, her hair had grown out to be longer, and curlier. She also finished going through puberty, which gave her some assets that Jared definitely approved of. She also slowly became more confident in herself. With time, her healing abilities also grew stronger, but by no means could she do tasks such as revival. Though she could heal poison, most burns, and more dangerous injuries. Of course, she wasn't a full angel so her skills would never rival that of a full-blood. All she knew was that if Jared needed her, she would be there.

"Don't be so nervous, dear," came the woman's soothing voice as she intertwined her fingers with his, "It's the start of a new journey for the both of us. For now, let's enjoy it."

Jared felt Alice put her hand around his, causing him to turn towards her and smile. He was reassured by the fact that he had Alice supporting him by his side. Even a few years back when he had to prove himself to his grandfather she had been of great help to him and someone that had helped him gain his own confidence and resolve. Jared looked at his other hand before clenching it, remembering the scared little boy that had left these same mountains only a few years before. "Yeah you're right," he smiled back at her, grabbing her hand tighter.

"You guys better start walking or you'll get in trouble," Jared turned towards Elise as she walked ahead of them with her own bags. The black long haired woman smiled back at the two. "Come on, you should greet everyone that'll be under you today."

"Yes, Elise," Alice smiled as she looked at the woman. At first, she was rather intimidated and honestly, afraid of Elise. It was through Jared though that the two slowly became closer. She also held a high regard and respect for the Elise and was glad she accepted the relationship between Jared and herself. She hoped that Elise would continue to be there for them in the future, and even be there for the future Drac children. Of course, the sheer thought caused Alice to blush but that's when she realized something. "Elise? Since Jared and I aren't married, what would I introduce myself as?"

"Huh?" Elise turned towards Alice for a moment, actually seeming surprised by her question. She scratched her chin carefully before looking at a blushing Jared who turned away from her. "Well right now I think everyone's associating you as engaged at the least, maybe they'll just reat you as the future mistress," she explained carefully.

"You don't mind right?" Jared asked Alice.

"Well, I would like to think our lives are headed in that direction anyways, so it doesn't bother me," Alice answered. She hoped that her assumptions were correct and that she would end up married to Jared. If that's what the people were expecting anyways, they had to play the part perfectly.

"It's not about the rich lifestyle," Alice remarked, "Even if we were dirt broke, I'd still be happy because I'm with you.... before I make Elise gag with my sappiness, what exactly are we supposed to wear when it comes to formal events and such? I don't really have anything formal to wear."

"Hmmmm, we'll let the hand maidens pick your clothing," Elise replied to her as the group entered the complex, being greeted by an array of butlers and maids dressed in different cultural styles. Jared chuckled nervously as he and Alice walked inside, not really liking such a big welcoming as it made him feel nervous.

"Leave it up to grandpa to make this stand out as much as possible," Jared sighed to himself as they made their way towards the mansion.

Alice sighed when she walked with Jared and saw the abundance of people, mostly butlers and maids. She smiled politely as she was greeted by them, but really, she would've preferred a small gathering instead of this large one. It was going to take a while for her to get used to this treatment of maids and whatnot. Part of her felt guilty though. She was certain that they would rather be doing something else instead of serving a commoner like her.

That was when Alice turned to her boyfriend, giving him a reassuring smile. She hadn't noticed him seeing the worry on her face. She didn't mean to concern him in any way.

"I'm fine," she replied, "it's just a lot to take in is all. I'm sure I'll grow accustomed to this as time passes."

Jared and Alice were led into the mansion's studio soon after where they were greeted by Jared's grandfather. The old man turned towards them, standing up from his comfortable green lined couch that stood just in front of the large studio window. "Jared, Alice, it's a pleasure to see you both again," the man smiled gleefully as he took off his reading glasses and walked over towards one of the multiple bookshelves, putting the book he was reading back in place. "I am sure that your trip here went well."

"Yes, thanks for the accomodations grandfather," Jared bowed his head respectfully as he looked at his grandfather, though his expression was completely monotoned if anything.

"You sound so formal Jared," the man chuckled as he turned towards Alice. "It'll be a pleasure to host you here as well Alice, I am thankful for your constant support of my grandson."

"Oh, you are most welcome, sir," Alice replied politely as she bowed. Her last encounter with his grandfather wasn't on the best terms. It had her rather frightened and intimidated of him. Of course, that was when Jared had to prove himself. That was also when she realized that she was in it for the long haul. No matter what, Jared had her back and she had his.

"You don't need to do that, sir," Alice declined properly, "I'll enjoy whatever they choose to prepare."

"Nonsense," he shook his head before standing up from his seat. "You'll soon become the mistress of this family, you should be treated as such."

"Grandpa just leave it at that," Jared groaned before glaring at his grandfather.

"Fine," the man replied with a sigh and a shrug as he walked over to the two. "Anyways, you'll be staying in the master bedroom from here on out, follow me."

Alice giggled nervously at the grandfather before Jared stepped in. She was grateful for that as she didn't want to anger him. Of course, when she heard the news of the master bedroom, she was rather glad. However, she thought of something rather...troubling. What if she and Jared wanted to make love? What if they were in the middle of it and perhaps a maid or a butler walked in? That would be rather awkward. Of course, it wouldn't even have to be sex. It could be one of the two changing clothes as well. Of course, many of the help probably had been there for many years, and would hopefully know to tread those waters lightly. Given her thoughts, her cheekbones flushed a pale rose hue at the thoughts of making passionate love to the man she planned on marrying.

"Thank you," she replied as she shook the thoughts from her mind and the blush blended back in with her natural skin tone.

"Don't worry about it," Jared replied with a chuckle before standing up and helping her stand up as well, kissing her cheek as he did. "Let's go now," he said before beginning to pull walking along with her and follow after his grandfather.

The two were then led into a large bedroom. The room had a chandelier hanging for it that lit up the clean pearly shaded walls of the room beautifully and reflected off the window leading to the terrace. There was a large king size bed in the center of the room with a flat screen tv hanging from the wall in front of it. From the entrance Jared could also see the door leading to the bathroom and the closet as well as another room leading to a smaller studio with computers, though he would have to check that out later. "So this is the master bedroom," Jared pointed out in amazement as he walked inside and put his bags down.

"Yep, this room has seen a lot of things," the old man chuckled heartily. "And people," he smirked as he wlaked towards the terrace. "Since you'll be the head then this'll be your room now, enjoy it to your heart's content."

"Where are youg onna go now actually?" Jared asked, remembering that his grandfather would once more retired from being the head.

"Fiji," he replied with a shrug. "I like the climate."

Alice was in awe when she saw the room. It was way larger than she imagined, and way fancier than she ever dreamed. This wasn't anything like her old home, that was for certain. Perhaps this would be a good change after all? She just wondered if she would be a good wife and partner to Jared. She hoped that if there were any children in the future for the couple, that she could be a good mother and protect them the best to her ability.

"Well, I wish you the best of trips," Alice replied as she bowed softly.
