I kinda like it and kinda don't. Dream World Good: Let's me catch Pokes! Dream World Bad: Is aimed toward kids 7-9. I kinda like the games, put only for the Pokes. Man, when can they create a Dark RPG Pokemon game!

Anyways, my rating is 8.

Meh. It's okay, but the minigames are as obnoxious as hell. I like the hidden abilities though.

1. It got old faster then the Pokewalker for me. The Pokewalker was fun at school, but the DW got old real fast. The minigames were lame, and the limits kept me from coming back. And this was the Japanese version before the US version came out with the lag and bugs.

Besides, if I want Pokemon with special ablilities, I can ask on the trade forum.

EDIT: Oh, and if it gets shut down in a few years like the old Gen IV GTS site, you won't be able to get berries.

Good: Allows me to get pre-gen 5 pokes w/o the hassle of transferring them over. Also i love that i can leave my berries growing for days and not worry about them re-planting themselves if i can't go on and pick them. The pokemon have awesome artwork, and i love the personalization you can do to your game skins.

Bad: A lot of the pokemon you find have worthless abilities no better than their originals, if the site gets taken down there is NO way to obtain new berries for long term/late players :/, only being able to send one pokemon to the games a day, the items traded to you on your share shelves easily being "stolen" by someone else before you can nab them, and no way to find your real friends, berry growth times are now longer than they used to be by a significant amount.

I think i should've given less than a 6 come to think of it :/

Yeah, the implementation and tie in idea was poor. If it had been implemented better, it might have had a chance.

I gave it a 7. At this point it is pretty boring, but there is definitely potential for improvements, which I wonder if we wouldn't have been seeing faster if it was not for the earthquake. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do to it over the summer, and then my score will probably go up or down depending.

8/10

It's really fun, but I wish you could bring back more than one Pokemon with you at a time. And the 50 per game limit might eventually get annoying. But I've only been on a few times, so it'll be a while.

I've given it a 3. It has some useful pokemon and yay for berries but it has huge problems. I hate this 24 hour clock. I seem to have to skip a day because I can't always log in at the same time. Please just set it for one time where it resets the clock for all. I also hate the fact that I can log in only once a day. It does seem like the berries take 1 day for the lowest teir, 2 days for the second lowest, 3 days for the middle teir, and about 4 days for the second highest. I shutter to think what the time would be for the highest tier. 5 days or more than that? 10 friends. Really? So freaking annoying. Granted it friends really don't do much but still. No ability to control where you are going is annoying. 50 dream world pokemon from the rumors I've heard. That is stupid too. The games are a bit too simplistic, more aimed towards 4-5 year olds than what the game is really tailored to. I've let my 5 year old nephews play and they passed with flying colors. Also, there is so little interaction with other people. Why even bother to have friends other than to have someone to water their plants? It's good in thought but terrible in execution. I'm just happy I got two immunity gligars, one male and one female.

^that^

except my only opinion that is not mentioned here is... I wish you could find any pokemon in dreamworld... not only the ones that are there! I want a toxic boost zangoose really bad! on the second turn, he can have up to ~5000 attack(<-- needs confirmation...) :) (with the right ev's and iv's), then facade! hit them with a X2 status effect, X1.5 STAB, you got yourself a 210 power attack, with an attack stat of that magnitude?... and on the second turn?... yes

Good:
  • Gen I-IV Pokemon!
  • Special Abilities!
  • Berries and items!
  • Decorate your own house!

Bad:
  • 24 Hour wait is torture. That's what has kept me from coming back on some days
  • Minigames are too easy and get boring fast. I even ignore some Pokemon just because of the Wailord game
  • Not much to do with friends other than stealing berries and watering plants
  • Nothing much to do after the Dream Isle other than berry hunting from other people's share shelves.

6/10 for me. It was a great concept, but lacked many things. There's always room for improvement though.

It's pretty fun if not a little too easy. Gotta knock a couple points or so off for lack of, well, an awful lot of Pokémon, and also for not being able to find just anyone (it's practically random)

I said 8, should've said 7. It's more of a 7.25.

I give it a 6.

The good:
-Hidden Abilities are fun. Ditto for the potential to get exclusive moves

-The thrill of finding a rare berry

-The mini-games can be an amusing pastime

The Bad:

-While addictive, there are only 4 mini-games, which can become tedious. There needs to be a bit more variety.

-The randomized locations. You have to "earn" access to the later areas; give me a choice of going where I want once I've unlocked them.

-The Pokèmon that appear are limited. Give a wider variety please!

-The limitations on DW friends. Besides not having much to do with them, other than watering and collecting berries, they are completely randomized. There needs to be an option to searching by FC.

I think this is a decent first try at this type of thing by GF. Fortunately, it's online, so it should be easy to update over time. Some additions I'd like to see is the ability to request/trade Pokèmon, and the capability of trading more than Berries. I imagine something like a small scale Animal Crossing. Otherwise, visiting your DW friends becomes pointless once you have all the berries you need.

Like most people, I want a greater variety of mini-games. However, I believe we'll start seeing more of these soon. It's only been running internationally for less than a month. And Volume II of the guides states that more mini-games are planned.

I'm really not bothered by the time limitations. As it stands now, there isn't a huge amount of things to be done that can't be taken care of in an hour or less, if you manage your time properly. And I much prefer having a short period of time in the DW to never being able to get on because people aren't leaving.

I gave it an 8.

Its a great way to get all the Pokemon that aren't available anywhere in-game. I think I like it a little better than the Pokewalker.

But I gotta admit, scooping ice cream gets pretty obnoxious after three consecutive games of it.

1.

Very boring and no real reason to actually play this - I'll just trade other people for the special ability Pokemon I want.

Good-
Pokemon with Hidden Abilities and sometimes cool moves.
Ability to grow berries.
Ability to find semi decent items.
Fun to care for your garden and decorate your house
Huge potential for improvement

Bad-
Majority of pokemon I find are male which limits choices at times.
Minigames grew boring after a week.
Only 3 areas and you can't choose where you go
No way to search for your real friends beyond blind luck
Limitations on play time and number of pokemon you can get in a day is annoying.
Extremely repetitive.

Overall more bad things than good right now. I gave it a 7 because I really do think there is room for improvement. Great Idea, they just need to tweak the execution a bit. Add more areas and allow you to choose where you go, allow you to find your friends, and above all else add more minigames. You can only play that ice cream and wailord game so much before you just wanna scream at the pokemon asking you to play it or do the bare minimum just to pass it.

Wow, i didn't know so many people felt so negatively about it :S

I personally love it. I've given it a 9. I understand that, for some people, the DW may seem a little pointless. Yes, you can simply trade for the special abilities and moves, but I'm one of those people that likes to earn everything myself. I've recieved a lot of cool stuff from it too, like a Shinx with Night Slash, and a Farfetch'd with Defiant, and Leaf Blade! Also, I'm not too obsessed with it, but when creating Dream Teams and the like, I get very fussy over EVs etc, so the berries are great for me. Also, I'm a bit of a hoarder anyway, so I enjoy collecting the berries, as odd as that may be. :S

The only thing I would say is that it's probably better if you could have IRL friends to become Dream Pals with.

7. It's fun to get Pokémon with special abilities (Sheer Force Nidoking ftw), but the minigames are pretty boring. especially playing with Wailord. The time is going down so slowly.

My biggest gripe is when pokemon (and items) just stop appearing altogether. I have yet to find a suitable remedy for this, but it's very annoying when this occurs early in your hour.

Unfortunately, it's intentional, I'd assume to prevent server strain or something but can't say for sure. Usually it gives me at least 5 goes across the Bridge though, so it shouldn't happen that early.
