I haven’t gotten one yet because I don’t have the money. Well, I did on Friday, but I bought a PStwo, memory card, and Kingdom Hearts instead since I already have a normal DS, but have never had a Playstation console in my life.

I want one, but I’d rather prioritize new games over a revamp of a handheld I already have; no matter how sexy the revamp is (I’ve been saying that a lot lately... I blame my sexy new PStwo...). Whenever I get one I’ll keep my old DS around to use as a backup alarm clock as I do now (I sometimes sleep through my normal alarm clock...)
 
1. Where did you get your DS Lite?

Haven't gotten it yet, but I'm planning on getting one from Best Buy, if my parents will allow me to spend my money on it. *grumbles* Best Buy b/c it comes with the Brain Age thing if purchased this week. While there, I'd probably also pick up the new Mario game.

4. For those who didn't get one yet...Why?

I live an hour away from Best Buy, and we'd just been shopping Friday. Do the math.

It's not released here until next month but I won't get it then since it doesn't seem like a worthwhile use of my money at the moment.

I might give it to my brother if he's nice to me. (He was hogging my Gamecube to continually play Animal Crossing the other week.)
 
Let me update now.


1. Where did you get your DS Lite?

K-Mart. Mom had a $50 gift card, and so I ended up getting it for just $80 instead of $130. =D

3. What's the first game you played on it?

Well, I first stuck in Fire Red and was stunned at the LCD screen. Having only had a first-gen SP prior to getting a DS Lite, it was quite a shock. Then I put in New Super Mario Bros. (only game I have for it; got at Wal-Mart today for like $33.24 on sale) and am loving it. I'm up to 2-5 or something.

I'll probably pick up one of these and I'll need one of these to go with. Then at least I'll be able to put movies, music, and old GB or earlier games that otherwise don't work natively on it.

I also plan on getting Opera DS as soon as it's released (any word on that?) and I wanted to try to get a copy of Pokemon Emerald, but I couldn't find any used in either EB Games or Gamestop today. Have to run to the Continental Hobby Shop (it has a new name but I can't remember what it is) next time I'm in Lynchburg (it wasn't on the way).

But I'm in love with the DS Lite. It is more than I expected, honestly. It's a beautiful piece of hardware that I'm loving thus far.

Sleep mode is great. =D

4. For those who didn't get one yet...Why?

Sold out, plus I didn't bring enough $$$ with me even if I wanted to get it last Friday. I was strictly going to Best Buy to get a new copy of Sapphire.
 
1) Best Buy, to get Brain Age for free
2) I was waiting for the redesign, so I don't have an old one.
3) Nintendogs: Lab and Friends

I'm addicted. :)
 
4. For those who didn't get one yet...Why?

I am waiting for more colors. I always hate getting the systems as soon as they come out becuase everyone seems to have the same two colors :P. I want the rarer shades, like the orange one they sooner or later always make.
More colors is the whole reason I got my first normal DS from Japan in pink, well over a year before the pink color came to the US. So if I get a lite it will most likely be from Japan again becuase they always get the good colors first :)
 
Agreed, Orange Flaffy. I'm waiting for black in the US.

I've heard that someone robbed a shipment of black DS Lites. They knew the serial numbers, though--maybe they should block them from the NWC? :P
