DS wi-fi help!

my ds can pick up a connection, but when i test connection, it tests for 5-10 seconds and then says this:

wi-fi works for everything else (Wii, laptop etc.) but not my DS, please help!!

Maybe try moving closer to the router/modem like the error says

DS and DS lite are only compatible with WEP security on routers. More than likely you have WPA security on your router, which is better than WEP. In other words, you will have to change your router's security settings to WEP and sacrifice security in the process, or buy a DSI which is compatible with WPA.

If you happen to have WEP security on your router then you need to manually put in, to the DS, all of the information needed to connect. Such as the router's IP address, security code, the IP address you want to assign to the DS, blah blah blah.

I wouldn't suggest changing the router to WPA if it's WEP. Instead I'd suggest making an Ad Hoc Network with that laptop, giving that a WEP password, and using that when you want to go online with your DS.

It's entirely possibly it's not compatible. What's more, from what I can tell, not any connection is compatible. To find a hotspot for me, I used this: http://www.nintendo.com/games/wifi/hotspot
