I've had this DSi for almost a year now [got it last Christmas]. It is a refurbished black one from Game Stop, so there is no warranty.

I don't think I have the money to send it to Nintendo to get it fixed, not to buy a new battery [do they even sell them in Game Stops at the mall? I've never seen any there.]

I've never dropped it, ripped out the charger, etc.; that thing is [or, possibly, was ] my baby.

Most forums I go onto [Yahoo!Answers, Nintendo, etc] just say "lul, I dunno; call Nintendo?", so I am hoping someone on here has better advice.

One bit I got was to give it a few days to take a break; could this help?

Does anyone have any advice on what to do?

Thanks for any and all help.

Does it turn on? If not, it could be a blown fuse.

Take the battery out of the DSi and wait a day or 2 before putting it back in. I would also check the charger to see if it's damaged and see if the contacts on the charging ports are dirty.

Do you have a friend who has a DSi, DSi XL, or 3DS you could borrow from? They all use the same charger. :)

Thankfully, it does turn on.

Taking it out should help? Is there anything I need to know about and be careful of before attempting to take it out?

That's good. :)

I would first check the charger to see if it's damaged and see if the contacts on the charging ports are dirty. If that doesn't work then take the battery out.

Here's the site with instructions to show how to remove the battery: | Nintendo - Consumer Service | Nintendo

Thanks so much for the information. It seems I'm gonna have to purchase one through them and try to find a small screwdriver.

Again, thank you so much for the help!

No problem. I hope you get your DSi charging again. :)

Likewise, I was preparing to start betting competitively and to simply have battles in which I might actually be a hard challenger.
