Title: Dual Infinity
Rating: PG
Pairing: Sacredshipping (Morty and Eusine)
Notes: Don't care much for the title.

He's walking behind me now, so far behind he's even trailing after Morty. He's not talking, though; Morty is drowning out his voice with complaining.

"Eusine," he puffed, starting to lean into the hill's incline, "we've been walking for hours. Can we take a break?"

"I didn't ask you to come along," I growled. To be honest, I was feeling a little tired, but I wasn't going to admit it, now that he had complained.

"Just leave him," the last traveler called up to me, but I ignored him.

"Eusine, I'm too tired. Besides, it's getting dark." So saying, he sat down on the ground, rubbing his calves.

"You know, he really is useless," the third voice grumbles, its owner catching up.

"I know," I sighed. Still, we might as well stop; it really wasn't safe to travel in the dark.

"I could take care of him now," he continued, kneeling next to Morty. His pale fingers crept towards Morty's darker throat, looking as though they were longing to dig into thin skin.

"No, leave him alone," I said automatically, taking a step forward.

"You're so weak," he said, disgusted, as he got up off the ground.

"I know," I sighed, dropping my head.

Morty shivered, seeming to shake himself out of deep contemplation. "Eusine?"

"What?" I snapped, quickly getting my thoughts in order.

"Who are you talking to?"

"...Minaki."

He look up, confusion in his tired eyes. "What?"

"Nobody. Nothing." I sat down next to him, resting a hand against the side of his throat. His pulse was calm; he had no idea what I had just saved him from.

Not much point in that. The fic isn't that much based on it that it needs a mention.
