I was watching one of my Pokemon tapes the other day.

And I noticed something......

In the credits to the more recent dub episodes of Pokemon, they have the name of the guy who does the Trainer's Choice.

But, they don't actually say Trainer's Choice in the credits, they call it something else.

*goes to tape and pauses it*

It says:

Pokemon Bumpers written by
Lawrence Neves

That's interesting.

So now we actually know who writes those.

He must also be the one who made the infamous Seviper --> Arbok one. :p I guess it could get tricky if you don't know everything about Pokemon, since that's probably what happened with that guy. Little mistakes (or in that case big :p) can turn into some major talk. :p

Yeah, I know what you mean, Dratini927.

And I feel sorry for that guy......

He definitely needs to get a copy of Pokemon, either R/S/E, so that way he could at least get his evolutions and non-evolutions right.

And that reminds me of the boy from the Pokemon Advanced episode "The Spheal of Approval" (I forgot his name). He wasn't very good with that stuff either. XD

Wow, someone needs to tell that guy to play the GBA games before making questions.

Give the guy a break. Very few, if any, people involved in the producing the dub actually play the games. The VAs just read what's given them. If you're going to blame anyone, blame whomever writes the scripts.

My mistake. I should have read what posted more carefully. Disregard what I just said. If the guy writes the segments, he should make an effort to know what he's talking about. Then again, in his defense, 4Kids probably told him to not spend a lot of time or money on Trainer's Choice.

He obviously knows something about Pokémon, since he gets some things right and he knows that Jessie used to have an Arbok. But someone should still have been paying attention and realised that they aren't the same Pokémon.

Wait, is this the guy that wrote the old Trainer's Choices with all the stupid mistakes, or the new ones, which have mostly been better?

Wasn't there a recent one that said Teddiursa would last longest against a Psychic attack out of Misdreavus, Teddiursa, and Poochyena?

Think about that for a moment.

We may not have ones as bad as the Seviper one, but there are still some wince-worthy mistakes being made.

It would be faster for him to get a player's guide than to get the game. They have all sorts of information that would be perfect to use for the Trainer's Choice segments - including type charts, pokedexes, and item lists - and it would take a lot less time to read through it than it would be to actually play through the game.

There was also one way back when where the Pokemon was Onix and it was Spelt Onyx...
