So I'm new to all things DVD. I burned a bunch of .mkv videos using Roxio Digital Media (which was really old to boot) onto a blank DVD. I finalised the DVD using Sonic DLA.

Thing is, when I later tried to copy everything somewhere else, everything got copied perfectly except for the last video. I managed to get the progress bar all the way to the end where I got an error 'Cannot copy file: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)'. The video still plays perfectly but nothing I'm doing will get it copied. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Do you still have the original files? Try using imgburn (its free) instead of Roxio when you burn. It sounds like a burn error.

Dont use roxio, as it burns "coasters" (failed burns) a lot.

Also, i dont think you can read them, as it seems like the data didnt burn right (CRC error, not good).

Argh, no. I lost the originals shortly after that. That's why I've been trying to salvage the video from the DVD.

Contrary to that, the data reads perfectly. I can play the video from start to end on VLC Media Player with no problems. What do you make of that?

Thanks, anyway. I'll keep in mind about Roxio's... flaws in the future.
