I'm curious to how many people do.

I don't myself, I think its defeating the whole point of Pokemon. I know its good for your Pokemon and stuff, but I prefer to just raise them normally.

I never bother with it. I don't do competitive that much, or at all, and it's just boring and tedious.

I thought I was the only person who thought like this! I can never just get a regular battle these days :/

I think its a good addition to the games, but like you said, it is very tedious.

I've only ever done it twice. I'm trying to get into it but I tend to goof off and it's a pain in the butt to correct a mistake when you can't ever really check your EVs.

I know I going to get trolled for this but...
I EV train now and it's not that hard once you learn how to do it easily!
I honestly always want my pokemon to be the very best they can and by EV training them, they can!

For gameplay I don't really care about anything. But when it comes to battling others, I find EVs one of the most important things to fix. But yes, it's quite boring to EV train, still, totally worth it.

The closest to ev training I have done was spent a few days getting an adamant Heracross. But I haven't spent ages defeating the same Pokemon over and over and over.

Yes I do.

If you knew you wouldn't have said "I know I'm going to get trolled for this..."

Trolling is essentially annoying someone just for the sake of pissing them off or upsetting them..
You are unlikely to be a target for trolls unless you do something really, really dumb, obnoxious, immature, or something of the like.

An example would be posting pictures of Holocaust victims on a pro-anorexia or pro-bulimia community.

Or if somebody on DeviantART is making an obnoxious mary-sue character, making a parody of that character.

I just hate that people are throwing around the term "troll" like it's just some blanket term for "someone who doesn't agree with me/annoys me and therefore MUST be banned." You don't know what trolling is if you think you're going to get "trolled" for playing a video game in a certain manner. Unless you're one of those sobs who try to hack Aeris into being alive in FF7 or whatever it's unlikely.

I like it, it's nice knowing you have the best pokemon possible, however i'd never dream of doing it in game, you just don't need to. However i have no time for people who say it's awful and shouldn't be allowed, it's just a part of the game that can be totally ignored, or not so.
I really admire they way that pokemon is designed so that 5 years olds can play through the game with whatever pokemon they think is cute, and it also has massive interest for gamers who are really into competitive battling and that side of it :)

Also, this is a thread about EV training not trolling, there's no need to make a big deal out of it. now enough, back on topic please.

I just don't like being pressured into having a Pokemon with Perfect this and Perfect that. It's just annoying. Plus, I never remember who gives out what EVs, and I don't feel like looking it up..

Annoying in what way? And I suppose that's your problem, if you can't remember or don't want to look it up, lol.

EVs are also good to show some skill in how you want to train your Pokémon. While not caring about nature, IVs, EVs; it's all completely random and in my option; boring.

Exactly, if you care, you put in the effort, if not, you don't, and you can still enjoy the game :)

You guys have great points :)

Sometimes I wonder I i should E.V train my Pokemon..

What's stopping you? You don't have to EV train them ALL. :)))

I thought EVs was a bit confusing in the beginning, but the more you're trying to understand it, the more you will. And there is a lot of help to get on the internet and here at the forum. =)

I do it, but only to buff up any Pokemon that are lacking in an important stat. I have TERRIBLE luck with natures. XD

The most I've ever tried to manipulate for my party is the Nature and Ability of the pokemon, and by manipulate I mean spam catch wilds until I get the one I want. I just recently heard about EV training, and I'm not real clear on it. I may give it a shot, now that I have beaten White, but I think I need to do more reading before I give it a shot. I heard something about an EV calculator?

I rarely EV train and I mostly do it on shinies, since I don't want to mess them up when they are so freaking rare.
