Which do you usually choose when gaming?

I myself usually go with normal. Easy feels like i'm not challenging myself at all and hard is often too stressful. Normal is the nice imbetween. If i'm replaying a game I usually push it up to hard just to test myself. A recent example was The Last of Us which I played in Survival mode (one above hard and the hardest there is) it was a challenge but I felt very proud of myself when I got to the end of it. I often underestimate myself. I think I am capable of playing the average game on hard but it would be a struggle and detract from the pleasure factor. I don't really enjoy playing a game if i'm just barely scraping by and having to redo certain bits because I keep dying, that's not fun for me.

I guess I don't buy games to test myself or be constantly challenged. I mostly just like the journey from beginning to end. I don't really consider people who play games on the hardest settings as better gamers either, it just depends.

I will usually go with normal the first time around and then move up to hard for a second playthrough

I usually prefer to start on Normal Mode myself. Future playthroughs of a game will likely be Hard Mode though.

I start out with normal, but if there's an achievement or some reward for playing again at a harder difficulty, I'll play again at that difficulty.

I usually go with Easy mode. I play games to relax, not to get frustrated. The instant a video game gets too frustrating I'll turn it off. No need to stress myself out over a video game.

Sometimes I'll play Normal, though. Like I did with Kingdom Hearts I and II in their remastered versions on the PS3. However, that's only because I've played the games before.

I'll pretty much never touch Hard modes. I can't recall anytime where I have.

I mostly choose easy when it's a game I'm not familiar with yet. I don't play games for the challenge, but more for the story.

But if Pokémon had difficulties to choose from, I'd choose hard because I'm really familiar with the series already.

Normal the first time around, so I can enjoy the story. If I play the second time around, I'd probably choose hard.

It depends on the game. If its a series I'm new to I play easy so I can enjoy the story but the second time ill play normal. If its a series I know well like Dragon Age I stick with normal. Never play hard or higher unless there is a throphy.

Like most of you, I usually start on normal, and then do hard if I play the game again later.

I did play Bioshock on easy, though (didn't finish it yet), because I was playing it for the atmosphere and didn't want to get frustrated by having to replay sections. If I played more shooters, I probably wouldn't have, but this is really the first one I've played (not counting random multiplayer games with freinds).

Normal. And I enjoy it VERY much, I'll take its hard mode.

Though, Shovel Knight New Game+ is killing me at the moment. Can't get past Plague, Treasure, and Mole Knight.

Normal for the first time. Then if I really want to reply I'll test myself on something harder. Unless I found normal hard... then I keep it on normal!

I'm usually pretty quick to adapt to a game's environment, so I attempt Hard on several games. However, if it's something as stressful as a Persona game, I stick to Normal.

Normal first time, Hard for replays. If its a franchise I'm familiar with, I might opt for Hard the first time.

Normal is what I would normally (heh) choose, because to me, that's the moderate difficulty. However, there are a few cases where I go for difficult if I think the game is manageable on Normal.

If I find the game hard for Normal, I would switch to Easy if Normal felt insurmountable. For example, in Ducktales Remastered, the final section is frustrating because I have to go through a boss fight to get there, and I don't have many chances to get the feel of the level layout. For Wonderful 101, I start at Very Easy because I am afraid that Normal might be too much.

Thanks for reading.

Normal. All day, erryday.
Except for when I try to challenge myself, or there is an achievement requiring me to clear a game in Hard Mode, or whatever it is called in the game.

Depends if it's one of those games with Starbucks difficulty names or not, if Normal is the lowest difficulty level I'll generally look into exactly how difficult it is before choosing it or the difficulty level above. If the game is from a series I'm familiar with, then Hard all the way.

It depends. If it's gameplay that I have little experience with, I'll play Normal. If I've gotten very familiar with the controls and gameplay, I'll use the highest difficulty possible.

Normal for the fist time, then I'd go to hard.Very hard/expert after hard,if there is one.

I'm dreading Dante Must Die with my taunting obsession.
